Hello everyone, been a lurker here on PCF for some time and finally made an account to participate in all the chip discussions. I'm a college student in Bloomington, IN and haven't played much live poker, but I aspire to host my own home game in my apartment. Haven't purchased a set yet, but close to pulling the trigger on a 500 chip set of the ceramic Desert Sands. Contemplating if a folding Barrington table or a rectangular Lifetime table with a custom pad and felt top makes the most sense for my small living room. I suspect I'll be playing with a group of 5-6 players besides myself. Looking forward to meeting y'all and appreciate all the knowledge from this great group of chippers and poker players!

Welcome new friend!! We have a decent table but also considering picking up one of those Barrington tables for travel use... the reviews I have seen have been positive if you take the time to change them to speed cloth or ever a custom cover, have you purchased samples of the desert sands or played with ceramics in the past? You will see over and over where members will tell you get samples before diving into a major investment! I also originally was thinking of going with a couple different ceramic sets, (which btw @ABC Gifts and Awards has some amazing ceramics available right now!!) But chose to go with 14 gram ABS slugs, since then @FordPickup92 and I found the world of paulsons which we love but very expensive as you have seen! Take your time pick a budget and enjoy your chipping journey! Be sure to update with pictures as we all love pron!!! Haha fellow chipper Ben

Hello welcome to PCF!!! You have reached a final destination for all things poker and all things chips. You'll likely receive quite a bit of insight on tables chairs chips etc here as well as recommendations for hot dog rollers. Be sure to invest accordingly... lol
But in all seriousness, there's tons of info here and many members available to answer questions you might have!! Wishing you the best of luck in our adventures and hope to see some pics of your set up and chips in the bear future!!!
Oh...and maybe throw your wallet out the window and give all your banking info to someone you can trust lol..... they'll likely need to cut you off later on down the road! Haha
Cheers, Brie

Welcome, and go Hoosiers! 1993 IU alum here. Pack me up a char cheddar dog from Buffa Louie's, some Pizza Express breadsticks, and a Supreme sub from Dagwoods. What are you studying?

Thanks Ben! I have a sample set of the Nevada Jacks, really like the linen texture and feel of the ceramics, just would prefer the design of the Desert Sands for a set that I plan to play with for at least a few years. I'm thinking I'd get tired of the all the skulls. I was initially surprised at how clean the graphics were on the NJs, another thing I like about the ceramics. Ahh the Paulsons. Yes, those will certainly lighten up your wallet, but beautiful chips and I've enjoyed all the pictures posted of them. Thank for the welcome!

Yes go Hoosiers! Business student here, finance for now but thinking marketing and sales is the way to go. Ahh the Pizza X breadsticks, great stuff. Lot's of good local spots. Thanks for the welcome!

Correct! Any preference in buying from thepokerstore.com as opposed to customizedpokerchips.com?

I have no experience with customizedpokerchips.com, but I can say that my dealings with The Poker Store have been excellent. Their customer service is responsive and friendly.

Welcome to PCF. Great place to be if you love poker and chips. Take your time, figure out what you like and start your journey.
Lots of great people here with a common interest.
