Probably not a big deal to most on here but to someone who has only ever played on a dining table I'm pretty chuffed with being able to finally play on something that looks half decent (to give context, when I took over hosting my electrical tape betting line was an improvement on previous tourneys  )

At just over £40 this was the cheapest table topper of this style that I could find but the build quality is not too bad — I was expecting something pretty rubbish and flimsy but it's sturdy and the materials seem ok. My only gripe with it is that the SSC isn't glued down, nor is it fitted to each half individually but to the whole thing so when I first unfolded it the middle bunched up and creased. However there is a knack to unfolding it so that everything is pretty tight and flat.

It's not a long term purchase, it will be replaced with a table at some point and then can be a spare or something I can loan out if others host. Looking forward to breaking it in next Friday!

That's worlds better than my table topper. I did wrap mine in SSC, but no padded rail and terrible plastic trays

Congrats! But I would recommend NOT playing in the shipping crate it came in (lower picture)?!?!?! ;)
Haha! That is actually just what I plan on doing. It's the beginnings of a summer house that my wife has been wanting, although of course it's really going to be a man cave / poker den  :whistling:

It's barely more than the OSB shell at the moment but once it's cladded and has some proper flooring it will hopefully look the business. Oh, and there's just the small matter of doors and windows, but those are minor details :D

Good find! That looks pretty good, and for only 40 quid!

Please post a review or something when you've played, I'm courious of how well 8 fit around a round table with a diameter of 120cm. Most affordable round tables have that diameter, but I've been hesitant to buy one. Perhaps post a picture when you're all sitting around it? :)

I was going to get this one for £65 but thought I might add well take a punt on the cheap one, thinking I could always send it back if it was no good. There doesn't look to be much difference in the two.

Will do

I promised some photos of the topper in use and intended to get my wife to take a couple of us but that went out of my head on the night, plus there was only 6 rather than the full 8, but for what they're worth here are a couple of pics.

I'm confident you can certainly fit 8 around it, but as you can probably see from the first pic when the 6 of us shuffled around for the selfie you might occasionally be rubbing elbows with your opponents. That's just a guess though. Playing 6 handed was more than comfortable and spacious enough for us.

As you can see I added a cheap lcd light strip to the rail for a bit of glamour lol. All in all it was a great maiden run out for the topper and I'd recommend it as a budget entry level table in a flash. It's really good value and quality for the price. Really happy with it!
