Was sitting around watching tv tonight and thought why not make a chip rack that I could make in the mill. Not sure if I'd make it out of wood, acrylic, or some other material but I made the basic design tonight. The troughs for each barrel of chips are 67.1 mm. The underside has a 8mm recess that is 68mm so they will stack and not get stuck together. I'm not that good at this by any means, still learning but its fun to make poker related things :D

Thinking maybe the next thing I should make would be some sort of a chip display?

Anywho, here's a few pictures from tonights little project.

Looking at existing chip racks it appears I should space out the barrels a little more so they don't come to a point in between each barrel of chips. I'm also thinking making them out of a nice hardwood might be the way to go.

I want custom Terrible's chip racks. :p

Cheese - I use the Wood Whispers plans for chip racks http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/images/chiptray.pdf Might want to look into his plans for your first go around. Your update is correct that you need more space between each rack. A simple maple/walnut is a beautiful combination.

Edit: Actually, with all this snow and work being canceled, I may get out tomorrow and make another one.

Lol I'll need to engrave the Terrible's logo into the side or something ;)

I like the idea of having the sides drop down a little so you can see more of the face of the chip. I plan to use these to display my Terrible's chips in my Terrible's Shrine so showing more of the chip would be great. I think I'd want to try to stick to making it out of 1 piece in the mill though just so I can be lazy and not have to make multiple pieces and glue etc.
