I will be building my second poker table soon and am planning on full felt, no drinks on the table. There is a long low shelf that runs the length of the table on one side. I have a pair of small nightstands that I may try to make into drink carts for the other side of the table, but I have a few questions.

Wheels?
Cup holders? How deep?
Space for phones/snacks anything else?
How many do you use for a table of 10? 1 cart for 2 players?
Where do you place them? Behind players?
Am I missing something?
What else do I need to know?

It depends on the space you have available for them. What kind of flooring you have, will help you determine type of wheels to buy.
I’ve seen some carts with and without cup holders. It solely depends on preference. I prefer cup holders, so no of my regulars knock over their drinks.

For size I’d say 16”x16” be decent size for two
people. Just make a few sketches and see what you like best. Quantity id day 1 cart per 2 people works good. Normally when I’m at the casino that’s what works best.

Good luck on the build.

Made these years back. Regular TV trays modified with cup holders and padded SSC

I would definitely say wheels. If you bump into them, they have a chance to roll rather than tip over. Chanman’s look really nice!
I just cut holes out of tables I got off Amazon. I do wish I got the jumbo cup holders; just because I would be able to use them more, not just for poker.
Here is a link to pics where I posted:

Edit: yes to cup holders, amount depends on space, but I have 5 for my table

Cup holders, yes. I bought my "Jumbo" sized stainless steel off of Amazon for about $4 a piece. (purchased the rubber inserts separately). Wheels for sure. Anyone that bumps into a cart, turns their chair and accidentally knocks into it, this gives the cart a fighting chance to just roll to the side without toppling over. The carts I ordered were $45 on Amazon and have the ability to raise/lower like a typical office chair so they can be used for more than just poker night. One cart per Two guest is plenty. placement? Where ever is most comfortable for them and keeps their drinks/food off the table. These are short enough to store away under the table at the end of the night. If you cut holes into yours, make sure to sandwich a scrap piece of wood on the top and bottom to ensure you dont screw up the veneer (did this my first attempt). The cup holders themselves I added a bead of silicon caulking around the underside of the lip to prevent movement and water from soaking into the now exposed wood. Honestly get what ever works best for you. trial and error. I like the ones Yone posted as well.

Solid cherry with powder coated cup holders and urethane casters:

I used to make them out of plywood but have changed over to solid wood last year. Much more durable, not that the old ones weren't durable.

I feel like i seen a smaller drink cart/side table that was triangle shaped around here some where. I think id prefer that kind.
