Hello all! Greetings from Upstate NY, moved here from Maryland almost two years ago.

Sadly, I just got around to unpacking my chips this week. I forgot I had almost 10,000 of them o_O They've been sitting unused and unloved for the past two years. I used to host a weekly cash game before the move, but just haven't had the time to try and get one started here. But two years is too long for the chips to be packed away in boxes.

So now that the chips are out, I find myself once again wondering what else I might need, what chips should go with which mixed sets, should I finally get around to labeling this rack of chips I bought 4 years ago, etc. I guess with the chips out of sight/out of mind I could keep the addiction under control. I have a feeling that won't last long now that they're (finally) unpacked.

North, south, east or west of Albany? I'm in Brooklyn, but weekends I've been going upstate near Hudson.

Welcome to PCF... sorry to hear you chose to leave the most seriously taxed state in the Union which is otherwise a pretty good place to live

So far I'd have to say NY is even worse when it comes to taxes. That said, we do miss Maryland (we lived in Baltimore for 4 years and then Montgomery county for 12).

I think you need to take a picture and introduce us to your chips :)

Fair enough. I'll take some more once I get them all dusted off. In the meantime, here's a few pics that I still have hanging around on my pbase account.

Yeah, I'm not sure how much Highway 9 love there is out there (or how many sets of chips for that matter). I actually had about 500 more at one point, but I sold off a small cash set of 500 chips (200/200/100) for some reason. Kinda wish I still had them as they almost never come up for sale and I wouldn't mind having more $1 chips. I'm also kicking myself for not buying the $100 chips when I originally bought the set. I figured I didn't need $100 chips since they never end up in play at our cash games. At the time I was new to the whole chip world and didn't realize that "need" has nothing to do with it :D

I know the feeling.... ;)
Were you over on the CT/blue wall pre-migration? PCF can't be your first rodeo....... ;)

Yeah, I was moderately active there for about 6 months back in 2012 (same username). Then we moved in 2013 and everything got (literally) put away and I've been on a chip/poker hiatus for two years. Closest casino is now about 2 hours away (instead of 45 minutes) and I went from a weekly home game that we could always fill to nothing. But two years is too long and I'm trying to get back into things. I hope to eventually get a weekly home game going again, but in the meantime I found a home game on craigslist that I played in last Friday that might have some potential.
