First the good news. Almost at the target. I just need one more person out of the 5 that haven't got back to me yet to come good (would like them all actually) and we are rolling.
However, for a few reasons I am going to have to revise the timescales.......

1. The FDL project ended up being far more popular than we forecast. By the time the nth hour arrived, not only was every person that indicated interest in, but almost everyone had substantially increased their orders, with two doubling them!

2. Several people had requested a little time extension to sort their finances. I appreciate it wasn't great timing with the holidays, and also Mike is away in Israel, and I need him to deal with all the under 300 qty and sample set orders. (that's always assuming they allowed his hair into Israel :) )

3. I am away from 28 Jan to 6 Feb, when I would have been needed for 'co-ordination' under the original timescales.

Therefore, slightly revised plan.........

You need to pay a 25% minimum deposit by 10 January and you will get a credit off your final invoice for 1% of that deposit.
You need to pay the balance by 31 January (I will email and final invoice everyone around 24 Jan before I go away)
If your scroll mold order is not for Rounders then I will need final art by 10 February

Allowing for the molds to be prepared by around end Feb now, I predict about 6 weeks production with chips shipping between mid March and mid April.

It sounds like business is booming! If so, great news! You guys are producing some good stuff!!!!

Awesome, can't wait to get a sample set of these iconic chips!

Thanks for the update David

Hi David,

I'd like to get in for the following:

300...$25
200...$100
160...$500
100...$1,000
40...$5,000

I'll send you an email that you can reply to with invoice/payment info...

Thanks,
Dave

How's the schedule looking for these? Getting ready to begin working on the molds in a few weeks?

Probably slipped a couple of weeks. Lost a fair amount of time because of the weather unfortunately. I'm still away for a couple more days, my trip was delayed. Will post another update when I get caught up. Mike has only just tallied up all the samples and small orders and I'm still waiting on one person to pay their balance and one more who never got back to me after the initial thread (that won't affect anything though, production numbers required are way above target). Total quantities came in about 50% higher than I expected also so I would guess production will extend for 2 weeks further than planned also.

One of the issues on the majority of projects that I would have never forecast is that rather than delays resulting in the odd person pulling out, it seems to result in 50% of people having more time to find money to increase their orders! By the time the last FDL's are done, the original 'requirement' of about 9,000 chips will have extended to over 15,000. :)

C'mon, you guys have only had like what, 6 feet of snow so far this winter? Doesn't that mean you're just snowed into the factory with nothing to do but make more chips? ;)

Thanks for the update, glad to hear we made the quota and then some. Really looking forward to seeing the mold re-born in the coming months!

I have to apologize. I've been so busy with work that I wasn't able to put time into the group buy.

I just spent over 2 hours doing up email invoices for all the small orders. David has put up with a lot of delays from me.

Mike

Well now that's a helluva problem. ;)

The delays sure helped me find extra pennies in the couch cushions. By the time I finalized my order I had gone from 500 to 1000 chips when I didn't think there was any way I was going to be able to afford a set that size.

Woohoo!

Wow...nice!!! Very jealous of your deep cushions.

An update will come shortly. Unfortunately we are way behind on everything. Too many people changing their existing orders and messing us around I'm afraid. I think from now on we are going to have to say that when you place an order it is final, end of story. I have some people here changing their orders twice a week, and it is costing us.

Way too late I'm afraid. Factory is at 100% capacity way beyond the Rounders Scroll project.

It's costing you and penalizing everyone who is waiting.

I'm all in favor of the cutoff being a cutoff... or for you instituting an order change fee. The fee would dissuade many or most of the changes, and would compensate you for any extra effort incurred because of those who want the change badly enough to pay for it.

An order change fee could be a good idea but could be hard to quantify and justify. People don't always realise how far ahead things have to be planned. For example we are currently making clay for orders that will not ship until June.

A flat $100 change-order fee would probably stop 99% of the changes, and likely not matter to those who absolutely had to make changes for various reasons. If publicized up front, I see no valid reason for anybody to complain.... and future order-placers should simply plan accordingly.

Some order changes cause a lot more than $100 of work or materials!

Once again I am too late! Then again I just joined. Excited to see the pr0n.

Then refuse them.

I'm all for great customer service, but I'm not for the last companies of a dying breed to service themselves out of their lifeblood before I get to order my One Great Custom Set. I need you guys to stick around a little longer.
