The poker chip calculator has been moved to a new page. In a few weeks we will be launching a new fantasy poker chip design tool for creating BCC, Paulson, and TRK mockups.

Links were added here and also under the Links menu too.

Will the new tool have all Paulson colors?

Yeah. Some color tweaking will be needed.

Very much looking forward to the new design tool! An option for Sunfly/Old West Poker Supply hybrids would be awesome as well!

I've talked with Sal about doing something for ceramics. The code variables are endless for a complete custom ceramic. With clay chips, you have a set of variables for molds, colors, spots, inlays, and sizes. A ceramic tool would most likely be for customizing a vendors stock offerings.

If I may ask a (potentially blasphemous) question:

I could understand why, on the Blue Wall, there were options to design BCC and TRK chips -- customs were available from those manufacturers.

However, these days, it seems like it's CPC or ceramics... why the design capabilities for the defunct companies? Unless it's a legacy project (this is what used to be available) or something to encourage creativity on ceramics that mimic clay edgespots, it seems like it's a horrible reminder to those of us who never took advantage of the ability to get custom sets way back when.

(Full disclosure: I ordered a set of ASMs in the CT days, so I wasn't completely shut out.)

it's a legacy project

The project started in 2014, got split up and the new CPC chip tool emerged. Completing the rest of it now especially with flash (what the old tool runs) on its way out.

TRKs were never my thing so I never considered going that way. BCC was such a crapshoot on quality that like me, you may have decided to pass anyway.
AKA you probably would have gone ASM anyway :)

Anyone have a list of TRK spots?

I've got these so far. Post a pic of other style spots if you have it. Thx!

The TRK color names are all over the place.
They print one name on the chip box but call it another elsewhere. They also use different names for internal use only.

After cross referencing some other material, these are the updated color names that I have.

Neither these chips nor pics are mine, but are linked from another thread on the forum.

More like 60/40 pie ;):D
Arguably a 1U, really. The chip itself is pretty rare, but it really doesn't exemplify their finer craftsmanship other than the fact that it somehow magically stays together (I'm assuming there's no dovetail under the inlay, similar to their El Rancho HS q-pies).

Now, if only we can convince @David Spragg to make these spots.... :whistling:
David's stated multiple times that CPC's overall processes won't work for V spots and non-dovetailed pies. This means 8-pies are out. Not sure if half-circles/moons would be any different than V's.

EDIT: I know 8-pies are out at CPC as David has said as much when the samples were offered. I don't know how he constructed them, though - not sure if they are truly 8 pieces, or if he cobbled 7 pieces together as displayed in the mock below. Also, to be more specific on my meaning of "non-dovetailed", I mean to say any 1/2 pie that isn't puzzled together, or any other pie that uses less pieces of clay than there are represented on the edge spots (we know that his 1/4 pies use only three pieces of clay, not 4).

These are probably wrong then. Just use inlays. ;)

Re: TRK's, all I know is not all TRK pies were dovetailed. Not sure if any of them had tails or not, particularly with the 8-pies.

I have no idea how David made the 8-pie samples he made. Goodness knows I'm not about to pop out one of the inlays to find out.

Yeah... I'm fixing them now.

We know the 8-pies, Vs, and probably half-moons are not options for CPC, but I would love to see them offer the shallow depth spots that TRK had. One of my favorite attributes of TRK chips. Probably not going to happen though as it would require all new punches be made. :(
