Don't know what made me think of this movie but for some reason I had the urge to look it up. Haven't watched it since I was like 5 maybe. Terrible compared to what I remember but loved it as a kid.

Anyone else have some movies from their childhood they'd like to share? :)

So many movies I fell in love with as a kid... all are now guilty pleasure movies. Here are some that I rarely/never see come on anymore (gotta check Netflix, it's been too long)

Super Fuzz
Animalympics
Dot & the Kangaroo
Midnight Madness
The Beastmaster
Emmet Otters Jug Band Christmas
Cherry 2000
Saturday the 14th
Night of the Comet
The Monster Squad
Real Men
Once Bitten
The Gate
Walk Like a Man

Midnight Madness is one of the best movies ever. I've watched The Wizard and MM in the last week alone lol. I belong to a bad movie club where we get together for one entire day every other month and get through shows, movies, commercials that are guilty pleasures from the 70's and 80's.

Obscure is in the eye of the beholder, some of the movies listed thus far are straight up mainstream fantastic.

Childhood obscure guilty pleasures for me (warning, I love ridiculous):

Record City

Body Rock. Lorenzo Lamas stars in this ridonkulous movie that tried to ride the waves of the Beat Street, Breakin, Electric Boogaloo era.

Superfuzz. I absolutely loved this as a kid.

They call me Bruce. Saw it in the theatre when it was released, bought it on DVD last year (don't tell anyone).

Rad.
Airborne.
Forgot all about RAD. Airborne is alright but I was probably too old at 18 when it came out to fully appreciate it. Probably why I strongly prefer Gleaming the Cube even though I was big into rollerblades but never in to skateboards

Beastmaster might have been my first boob shot. Ahhh mammaries...

FYP... :)

There was a made for TV movie back in the 80s that I loved but can't remember the name. It was about some Army "brats". I think Sean Austin or one of the "Corey's" (Feldman or Haim) was the main kid. All I remember was they had motorized skateboards, I always wanted to retrofit my board back then........

Spaced Invaders! Still awesome IMO.

I recently saw (a few minutes of) Masters of the Universe again for the first time in about 25 years. My disappointment was profound.

I was heavily into rainbow bright movies.. uggh

Beastmaster might have been my first boob shot. Ahhh memories...

There was a time in the early 90s (i think?) when Beastmaster was replayed on TV like every Saturday for about a five year period. Or so it seemed. Or maybe it was the sequel. I just remember constantly seeing it "featured". Truly terrible.

I was big-time into old black-and-white horror flicks as an impressionable youngster, watching Nightmare Theater with Sammy Terry on Friday nights back in the early-to-mid '60s.

The Fly (original). The Screaming Skull. The Invisible Man (original). The Black Room. The Incredible Shrinking Man. The Black Cat.

Plus all the horror staples: Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Werewolf, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc.

Awesome stuff.

Digby The Biggest Dog In The World

I didn't realise that Spike Milligan was in it...

The Goonies may be the best movie ever from my childhood. Not really in the same category but needed a mention.
