How many NHL fans do we have here? (1 Viewer)

Totally agree, but you look like an amateur league when you do this kind of stuff IMO. St Louis should have gotten it over Cooper. What is the legit reason Cooper was chosen, other than "he was due"?
You're preaching to the choir, man.

IMO, they should strip voting rights from most of the hockey writers who have a say in these awards (or at minimum, make voting public)

I'm still salty over Joe Thornton winning MVP in 2006 over Jagr. To this day is one of the biggest award voting travesties in my book.

The NHL loves that, same way they love recycling GM's and coaches.

I'll never get over Drew "Due" Doughty winning the Norris over Erik Karlsson in '15/'16.

That year, Karlsson led Ottawa with 82 points, led the league in assists and was 4th in the league for points. This was at a time when discussions of "the Norris should be a defensive defenseman award only" were most popular. Then of course a year later Brent Burns won his 1st Norris for "a dominant offensive campaign and leading NHL defenseman with 76 points"...the same year Karlsson had 71 points and led Ottawa to game 7 double overtime of the ECF in which Ottawa could have (or would have) won the cup if they got past Pittsburg......

Can you tell I'm salty about that? lol

I know, I'm definitely salty too. There is no universe in which if the award was handed out based on merit that Cooper would have even been in the top 3. It's very annoying. Ruff was something like 97% to win.
