@chippitydoodah created 6 cards in hand which plays better IMO. I'm gonna try 7 in hand and 3 on board

It’s one of the newer games that works pretty good! It sounds goofy but it plays good.

Needs some study.
4,6,9, J will kill straights
With 8 cards of each suit dead, flushes are harder to make
I saw one and two pair win this a lot

maybe I'll introduce auctions in Nov, see how they like that

Also 10s play as 0 points for the low points

The 'discards' are layed out in front of you, not on the board, the best low hand, which is pips

Player 1 won with 10s and 7s
Player 2 1/4 the low with 10 points
Player 3 1/4 the low with 10 points

I've been a little obsessed with trying to make games work with two different mechanics - one is a board comprised of discards (but not as stupid as shuffle derailment), second is a face up draw. I think I've settled on these structures - what do you think? Any issues/changes/oddities of how they might play?

SNAKE DRAFT - Dramaha-like mechanics, but the draw is a single card face up out of a pool. Gives those out of position a balance of power given they draw first.

EMINENT DOMAIN - Board comprised of discards, bomb pot format straight to a flop to ensure board "makes". High-lo nature causes all cards, inclusive of aces, to potentially be in the discard pool.

Snake draft could be interesting but there’s a lot to process. Do you pick a card that improves your mitt, the Omaha hand, both or blocks one, the other or both.

Eminent domain is basically shuffle O8. You know I love a good shuffle game but hi/lo usually means only middling cards are ever thrown back in. Unless you have trips+ or a lot of suited connectors. I’ve found shuffle usually works better in games with more than one board and without a lo split.
