I'm going to run a Playoff Fantasy Football game. I've never ran it, but have participated in it the last few years. Its pretty damn fun.

Basically choose whoever you want that is in the playoffs. When that team is eliminated, the player you picked from that team is off your roster. You can only pick one player from each NFL team.

Questions?

Entry fee will be $20.00's. This is the tricky part. I don't have my paypal set up to receive money yet (just signed up yesterday to pay J5 :) ) At this point I'd rather receive money through the snail mail. Just send a 20, or a check. I will need payment by the second week of the playoffs.

Week 1 lineups will need to be emailed to me by 4 pm EST on SAT. JAN 3rd.

If your interested PM me your name/email address and I'll add you to the list.

Bill

It's interesting but I don't care for the "everyone picks one player from each team" aspect. Example would be the Steelers... with Le'Veon in question everyone is going to have A.Brown on their rosters. If Pissburgh continues advancing everyone will have the same guy.

definitely a possibility. I think I've played in this for 4 years with 15-20 players. There has never been a tie for the winner.

Is it winner takes all? I assume all rosters are emailed each week before kickoff of the first game? If that is the case ship me your addy and I'll ship you 20 bucks.

It'll be based off of how many players I get. 8 or less it will be winner take all.

For payouts I just use our poker payout schedule

5 or less = 1 winner

6-8= 2 winners, 70/30

9-14 = 3 winners, 55/30/15

15-20 = 4 winners, 50/25/15/10

payouts will be rounded to the nearest 5

PM sent.

Am I going to get an email with everyone's rosters? Week one was no fun what-so-ever without knowing who anyone else has. Whole thing is a bit pointless from an entertainment standpoint without that knowledge... I feel like I'm playing blind. Not trying to be an asshole, I'm just a bit peeved as I run a shit-ton of pools throughout the year and I go to great lengths to make sure all parties have the information they need to enjoy the action. I don't even know how many are in the pool.

Laptop took a shit. I've only had phone access this weekend. I return to work tomorrow and am planning on sending out a group email. If this is unacceptable for you, I will send your money back.

9 players btw

Thought I would pop in here to get advice. I'm in one of these playoff leagues and I've never done it before - we have a limited number of transactions and a salary cap. There are 10 of us in the league, I'm 31pts off the lead heading into the Super Bowl. All the dudes ahead of me have Brady and/or at least one NE WR. At least 2 (I need to confirm) of them will also be playing with at least 1 empty roster spot due to being out of transactions. I have 4 transactions left am thinking about the following two rosters for the Super Bowl. Are there other options I should consider, assuming I have the available cap room?

Option 1
Brady
Lynch
Blount
LaFell
Amendola
Luke Wilson
Hauschka
Seattle D

Option 2
Brady
Lynch
-open-
Edelman
LaFell
Gronk
Hauschka
Seattle D

Who is on your current roster that wouldn't require a transaction ?

Current roster is:

Luck - not in field
Lynch
Richardson lolz... - not in field
Cobb - not in field
Hilton - not in field
Luke Wilson
Hauschka
Seattle D

Seems like going with Wilson at QB should be considered? Is he cheaper?

If everyone ahead of you has Brady, why not take Russel Wilson?
Absolutely this.

I'm not a big fan of your format (or the one I threw away 20 bucks on that started this thread ;) ) but would like to throw out an alternate format I came up with that is really quite a bit of fun.

Eight man league, hold a full draft before Wildcard Weekend. Only players from the eight Wildcard games are available to draft.

After the Wildcard games your entire roster is scratched and you redraft for the Divisional games.

Points are cumulative. After the Divisional games the bottom four guys are eliminated and the four remaining redraft for Championship Weekend.

Two more eliminations and the top two redraft for the Super Bowl.

This is my first time doing anything fantasy-related in the playoffs so I had no idea what I was doing when I picked my team - and still clearly have no idea what the best strategy is.
