The re-enactment with the chip prop in the boiling water is crappy labeled plastic chip. The others look like Paulsons.

I'm sure it has been done before. Casinos probably didn't want to give ideas to anyone.

Probably told them everything they wanted to know, the when and where of all the casinos they scammed. His partner had a record. He might not of had any priors.

Is it illegal to do this with no intent of using them?

Kidding!

Gene Trimble commented on these counterfeits, saying they would never pass individual inspection by someone that handles chips (the dealers). He said they would be passed to the cage with multiple other legitimate chips.

Actually, a couple of scenes look like they were shot in a dealer training school with cheap chips. The beige layout.

They need more B-roll to go under the dialogue.

This is why Paulson is stopping home chip market...

Uh, no. Paulson's current home line chips could never be used to create realistic counterfeits of real casino chips.

Soaking chips, removing the label, then painting edgespots on the chip seems like a pretty surefire way to get escorted down to the basement in a casino to have a heart to heart with a couple guys named vito and carmine worst case and time in the police station best case.

Last time I went to Vegas I brought a PNY $1,000 chip as a cardprotector. Everyone (including dealers) at the casino's I played thought it was a genuine New York New York chip, and I've had offers to buy it from me for $1,000. I could probably make a killing with these things, but I just luv em too much ;).

I would sell all of them for $1k each. Think of the custom set you could make...

Ummm. I think they're pretty great chips too. But I'd have a hell of a time not taking $1k/chip. Wow.

*Note to self: I need to find myself some PNY 1k's for my August trip to Vegas :)
