I think you're off to a good start. One suggestion: print them off at actual size (7/8" or 1" would be good) to see if you can actually see all the elements clearly. There is a lot going on in some of those designs and you don't want things to get lost. I'm also not really sure how some of the elements tie together but if they are meaningful and make sense to you that's all that matters I suppose :)

I think there's a lot going on there. When shrunk down to actual size will just be a muddle. If he wants all the elements why don't you try a different theme for each chip and have the Skull in each one to tie them together as a set?

Hockey chip, fishing chip, Star Wars chip etc.

+1 to this.

+1 for breaking them into multiple chips. Keep one unifying aspect such as the skull and then make each chip a distinct hobby. Too much going on in the first one. For a similar idea I'd reference the Poker Zombie Club mockups.

ADD.... I can't believe anyone would suggest that abou...... Hey look a squirrel!!

By the way, I could also add a number 67 in there for all you leaf fans.

Well, it seems it's bake to the drawing board for this set. I'm going for some kind of exploding bbq or burning bbq theme. I was thinking "flaming Q" poker room but I'm not sold on it as its a little open to interpretation. Lol
thanks for all suggestions. I'll post the revised editions when I get inspired

This concept is all over the place. A Hockey, fishing, bbq, Star Wars, pirate skull, Quebecois themed poker chip? That's just too much. Pick one concept and elevate it.

When making a conceptualizing a design, think to yourself "Would someone wear that logo on a hat or shirt?". More specifically, would someone buy this chip set if I ever get sick of it?
