I know I got paid in the end but how'd I play this PLO8 hand? (1 Viewer)

Sweet hand! I'm down $200 and $400 for my last two sessions AND I don't use any kind of math when I play so I probably should be the last person offering any kind of feedback BUT, For My Group, I'd probably make them pay more for their draws on every street, including a little more pre-flop. 2 main reasons, if someone else also has AK, I'm free-rolling them with the diamonds and, in our games, I don't know how many times a hand and board like that has lost on the river - somebody who was hanging around hanging around (haha) got there and what looked like a nut flush on the river lost to a straight flush and/or nut straight/nut flush on the flop/turn ended up losing to full houses when boards paired up on the river... It's so sick in our games (even when only playing 3 way!) that I should probably come up with a new custom set of chips with "Cooler City" somewhere on them! :D

I guess my thought process here was that I had such a stranglehold on the board and was only worried about it pairing. But I think since I block the King-high flush I should be betting the flop because a diamond on the turn may kill action I'd get otherwise

For our games, it seems like I'm always either hoping the board will pair or deathly afraid that it will pair... lol We also play a lot of pineapple PLO8 (deal 5, discard 1 pre-flop) and Q, J, 10 is frequently set city (and I'm sure I'm mixing those games up)... haha

Did you really just ask how did I play when you had the nuts on every street?

Did you pot it preflop? that many ppl in the hand makes it more likely that someone else has A2 or A3, I prefer the preflop call, but other than that, the flop was amazing, I'd not slow down, the turn sucks but multi way action I'm pushing

Why not make a small click raise pre? I mean 3 to the wheel with a suited ace is basically as good of a candidate to raise from any position I feel.

Yes, I feel it's important to review hands you've won as well as lost to see if you can improve on your processes

I was in the BB and there was one limper and then the SB came along so only three of us in the hand. I hate playing bloated pots OOP, and if I raise I turn part of my hand faceup to my opponents, so opted to check my option to keep my range wide.

On the flop I felt I had too much of the board I was going to be hard-pressed to get any action unless I let someone else take the betting lead. I suppose I could lead on this board because a diamond hitting the turn might kill my action if I just check-called the flop.

On the turn I'm not thrilled that I may now have let someone catchup and be chopping. But, I expect to be freerolling them unless they have two pair or a set to go with broadway so felt it was time to extract value.

On the river I'm ecstatic that I made the "super nuts". You could check here because the board texture changed from when I bet the turn, allowing someone to try and bluff you off a chop. Or you could lead for a quarter pot, trying to look like you're now scared your broadway is no good, but still feel you need to blocker bet, which may give someone the gumption to raise.

But I also felt like I was just going to receive check backs or calls if I bet small, as I had no idea BOTH my opponents also had hit flushes on that river, so was trying to bet the max I felt I could extract from someone with a straight
