PCF Toppers, Mousepads, and a new item... (1 Viewer)

Shit, angioedema reaction caused by ARB. This means you cannot use this class of medication or ACE inhibitors again. Make sure your pharmacy and family physician records have this reaction on file.
I'm surprised you didn't have a persistent dry cough for the last 8 months. Development of cough can predict future risk of angioedema. You hear about these things but never really expect to see it (incidence about 1 in 100,000). The reaction can happen after years and even decades of use.

Hope to get it out of my system. Woke up today with puffy eye lids.

Just an update. I won't be packing any orders today. I have two doctor appts. Those who received tracking numbers yesterday, your packages will be dropped off at UPS later today between 4p and 7p.

I plan to pack more orders Friday morning.

Thanks!

Wow, some scary crap to go through and the cause was a medication that’s supposed to help your health. I can’t believe you still got my package out. Way too dedicated. Definitely could have waited.
Glad you’re feeling better and your son got a tour of the firehouse! So cool for him!

…oh and I received my pack yesterday, and the mini mats look awesome! Lol
Thanks Tommy!

You'll recover fully. This type of reaction is not associated with any long term effects. It's just potentially scary as he'll when it happens. All persons on ACE inhibitors and ARB mess should be counseled about the possibility of this side effect. I always drill this into my students and residents, and your exact situation is the reason I do.

@allforcharity I never knew you were a physician! I'm a 4th-year med student (starting Monday) and I know one resident on PCF. Any other physicians on here?

It's funny, I'm in the midst of STEP 2 study right now and as I read Tommy's original post I thought "It's either anaphylaxis or angioedema" followed by "I wonder what meds he's on..."

I'm not a physician, I'm a clinical hospital pharmacist. We've got a few other PCF pharmacists and a bunch of physicians, as well as nurse practitioners and all sorts of health care professionals (I'm sure).

Mini-mat arrived today, tremendous quality!

I can't believe anyone would allow the business end of a Dremel anywhere near their fingers. You must have been very brave and/or desperate! Wishing you a speedy recovery

I'm going to be sidelined for a few more days. I'll get the remaining orders out as soon as I can.
Scary for sure, especially if you’ve been taking it for a while with no reaction and aren’t expecting it.
Get some rest, take it easy, and hope you feel better soon Tommy!

Whoo hoo, I made the list!! Thanks Tommy, PP sent!

Got mine today. I can't get over the quality of the toppers. Not that I didn't think they'd be nice, but they're way nicer and thicker than what I expected.

not to mention how relatively inexpensive they are... can't be beat.

Thanks again, @Tommy!

Haven't gotten my topper out yet, but enjoying the mouse pads. They are huge. I've got some of my IG chips on one corner and can still easily use the mouse. Have to get in a shuffle every so often. Makes conference calls actually enjoyable.
