These are Awesome,
100% plastic
Light weight
Nice clanking noise
Some have Dragons stamped in them....
Some have GOLD letters....

Have fun with this one..

lolz. Nice Christmas colors too. Maybe you can make decorations out of them.

Reminds me when my sister got married several years ago. Her new husband was/is a big Beatles fan. Has many old valuable albums. My mom used to give him Beatles calendars and mugs... generic stuff. Eventually, he had to tell her he was in to "quality" not "quantity."

If your niece is 6 (or younger) that is awesome. Level of Awesome drops for each extra year of age.

6 (or under): Awesome
7-10: She's sweet
11-14: That's nice
15-18: N/A because unless you are Justin Bieber (or equally vomitus) they don't know you exist right now.
19+ : Bless her heart. :p

I think a dragon mold would be incredible/incredibly cliched for a fantasy or Asia-themed set.

WELL then, BLESS HER HEART..

Ahhhh Bless Her Heart.

The Southern way to say you're a moron while still being polite.

Yeah . . . my in-laws bought me on of those tinned "sets" with the crappy paper cards, the chintzy plastic chips, and the garbage felt "poker cover" one year. They also bought me a Dealer's "shoe" (like at a blackjack table) as well.

That's the sort of stuff you plaster a smile on your face for and say thank you and then just shelve it for all eternity. It is also the same thinking that has led me to NEVER ask for presents that relate to poker. I can do a better job myself.

I have a friend who will bring me crappy paper decks of cards occasionally. I've got out Modianos, so I will never use them but his heart is in a good place so you just smile thank him and move on.

It looks like your niece picked these up at a sale, or because some one was getting rid of them. This is the kind of behaviour that I would strongly encourage - who knows, the next set might be 500 TRK LCrowns.

And in defense of these Diamond chips: they've got a good mold, they are not slugged, they are solids (I'd ditch the painted browns), and I consider them the "best" cheapo solids available.
