... turns out to be not difficult at all. Especially if have no choice because you're on cruise ships that don't allow access to any Web site beginning with "poker", classifying all of them as gambling activities. That includes all the lines owned by Carnival, and they're non-responsive to complaints.

Anyway, we're now wandering around southern France (Toulouse the last couple of days, Cahors for my add-on wine glasses tomorrow, to Bordeaux on Sunday), and headed home next week. If the house is still standing. I'll try to get caught up on messages and such...

Please eat at La Table de Haute-Serre in Cahors if you can, it’s one of my favorites ever. Enjoy your trip!
Wish we could, but our one supper in town is already booked with friends who live nearby. However, we will definitely be tasting all three 2018 Haut-Serres while we are there, It's one of our favorite Cahors.

On Tuesday, we tasted two single-varietal malbecs produced in Montreal, near Carcassonne, in the Malapere region, at Domaine Le Fort. We were pretty surprised to find such malbecs being produced that far south in France, and they were excellent despite their youth.

I take occasional breaks from PCF, maybe 2-4 weeks per year where I intentionally avoid the site except for DMs. I was barely around in March, mainly due to taking on Mrs. S's normal household workload while she was recovering from surgery.

Other times, I'll find myself spending too much time on the site and feel the need to press the reset button, life gets really busy, or I just get a little burnt out from all things poker and need a short break.

These breaks help me appreciate my PCF family that much more, and they allow me to stay excited about chipping and poker in general.

Enjoy France!

Thanks for the update Larry...wishing you & the wifey a fantastic trip.
Enjoy La douce France :)

Surprised to hear that about those Malbecs. They sell for pretty cheap, and I wouldn’t have thought they’d be that great. You tasted the 19 and 20, I assume? Will have to try them.

Spent a week in Paris a couple years ago, but we're trying to convince the in-laws to go to the South of France with us one of the next summers to get a little babysitting reinforcements for some wine adventures. Will have to hit you up for some recommendations! Enjoy your trip, I thought PCF had lost a little of its snarky-ness the last month  :ROFLMAO:

So were we. We tasted the 2020 at the winery and drank a 2016 magnum that evening, priced at 11 and 20 Euros, respectively. Terrific bargains over here...

You cannot be serious! Moi? I don't even know how to snark. You must be referring to Anthony, with his career diversion from live casinos and his pending desertion of the un-great (but warm) state of Florida...

You might consider Spain for that trip, too. Lots of grapes and wines that never make it across the pond, plus food and wine are 30-40% cheaper than in southern France. We had sticker shock coming north from Barcelona across the border... :)

And Portugal is cheaper yet!

Spain is high on the list too. We did two weeks in Portugal around the holidays this year which was absolutely incredible. Amazing food, wine and places to explore!

Portugal > Spain > France from my experiences over the years. In Portugal you can live like a king on a relatively modest budget and the Algarve region is just beautiful - a perfect mix if you are visiting Lisbon just a few hours away.

Not that I’d go on a cruise to play online poker, but I would have thought that would be a perk to being in international waters.
They’re jerks.

Check out Azores if you haven’t, it’s my new favorite vacation spot

I barely made it through 24 hours when they had the certification renewal issue! I may have a problem…
