Managing Your Poker Night Invites and Responses (5 Viewers)

Life is gettiing too complicated.
I prefer an initial "Circular", i.e. group message either through email or what's up or viber.
Then, back to the 20th century: Telephone, pen and paper.
So much simpler and more reliable.

whats app message with 80 people yeah thats easy to track. for a group of a few buddies sure but for getting people together for an MTT, group messaging made me want to stop running them

edit: but yes, there has to be some answer out there that is simpler. But this is the best I have found so far.

Hi @Al Azouri been using the tracker and its great! is there any way to adjust the quota , trying to send to more than 100.
Glad to hear it’s working well for you.

Unfortunately, the 100 message limit is a google quota. It looks like you’d need to an google workspace account to get the quota bumped up to 2000.

Actually based on your message I was able to find the answer. They limit it to 100 for everyone
I guess I cant have any correction emails go out the same day when I make a mistake.

Thanks for the reply

I need to find an alternative to send mass (individual) texts. $30 for the app or a monthly fee doesn't seem worth for a home game every 6-8 weeks IMO

I just tested this out for the first time. Sent only myself a text message from the GoogleDocs spreadsheet. Came through immediately, and the link worked perfectly, and I changed my status to "IN". Checked out the GoogleDocs "dashboard" tab and it was already updated. This is gonna be a game-changer. I usually send out emails, but text messages are so much better.

I host a game on Friday night, and will be asking everyone for their cell phone provider (and phone number if I don't have it already).

Thanks so much for providing this!

I too am excited and grateful for this tool. I was sending out texts but keeping track of everyone manually in a google sheet. I tested this tool for my home game coming up in a few weeks and it went flawless. Everyone was "skeptical" when I asked for their carrier but everyone is thoroughly impressed with the new system. I even played around with some of the CSS to style the dashboard and invites to the theme of my home game. Thanks again Al

I would like to see a little more in the “read me” section in terms of explaining what the tabs are for, and how to edit them. I wasn’t sure what I could change or how that would impact things. More info is always better. But it’s very very cool. I hope my players will use it.

Yeah, that’s been on my to do list. I keep putting it off.

Random question about this tool. Is there a way for all the guests names not to be visible to everyone at the bottom of the dashboard? I tried changing the font color and the fill color, and hiding the cells, but they still show up to everyone.

Thanks

Can you be more specific? Are you looking for guest with status unknown to not be visible? Or all guests, whether they responded or not.

Just delete those two rows from the spreadsheet and ignore the warnings about doing so.

You can do that with any section you don’t want to display. Just be aware that if you regenerate the dashboard from the admin tab it will bring those sections back.

It worked! I must've been missing a cell or row when I tried deleting the first time.

Thanks!

Yeah. According to your post you were playing with the appearance of those cells. You’d need to actually delete them for them to not show up. Which is what you just did.

That gave me an idea for a future release. I can add an option in settings that lets you specify which statuses are visible on the dashboard.

Hi Everyone,

I just released version 3.2 of my Invite Tracker. This version has several improvements including a new tab and web page to track metrics on your guests. I've also finally completed a first draft of a manual for this app. A link to it can be found in the ReadMe tab and can also be accessed here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eyfRpOmiou1JxCcwtchMzHMXJqGDXmdtQjmo_o0CZFY/edit?usp=sharing

If you've already reached out to me for the older versions I've already shared the new version with you.

Enjoy!
