I've only played in the casino once, watched a bit more, and casino 1/2 PLO has got to be the swingiest game offered in a card room.

It seems like every pot is $75+ pre-flop when you're starting with $300-500, and 3-5 to the flop is practically like pulling the arm on a slot machine given the close pre-flop hand equities.

How do you survive this kind of short stack variance without a mountain of a bankroll?

That’s why I hate most Vegas tourneys as most pay only 10%. The WSOP went to 15% several years ago. Much better.

Right now the only PLO is at Aria, so I am likely staying here. No plans to play at Flamingo.

Dinner at one of my favorites at Aria - Lemongrass - even better on poker comps. I usually get the drunken seafood noodle but I am trying the Singapore noodle tonight. Last trip I hurt myself with a level 4 Thai spice so I am dialing it back to a 2.

They have been cropping up. There is a regular 4/8 mix at Sahara. And there are semi regularly 4/8 and 6/12 mix at Resorts World. They will play stuff like Dramaha, Super Stud 8, and Double Board Omaha.

They had a nice mix of games, but with a few odd rules. In Dramaha you declared your draw and then they dealt the turn before the draw.

In double board Omaha, if only 2 cards were left in the stub at the river they mixed them with the burn cards and then dealt the river.

Room was clean and comfortable. Dining choices on site are meh. Uber/Lyft to the strip $10-12.

In Dramaha you declared your draw and then they dealt the turn before the draw.

This is the correct way.

Declare draw. Burn a card. Deal turn & draws.

Nobody can "read" a marked card on the top of the deck. It's a Cuban-proof system.
