I've had several recent requests for the current game evolution flowchart, intended to evolve a NLHE-only group into a mixed game cornucopia of poker. Start with clear boxes, next time add in grey boxes, then green, yellow, and orange in subsequent sessions. Limit is another world in light blue, and typically involves a different dealing structure (e.g., stud. multi-draw) + betting format. I recommend avoiding the games in red, both early on for some and forever for others (for many reasons). Just sharing in case others are interested!

Stampler not recommended!? I demand a recount!

@inca911 >> I like your chart…. Good visual…

I’ve been using a simpler version with the same concept, but accomplished the playing of these games in a single session…

Hold’em
then Double Board Hold’em
then Omaha High
then Double Board Omaha
then SOHE (combines Hold’em & Omaha)

so learn it (hold’em), then double it, then learn it (Omaha), then double it, then combine them (SOHE)

Once players get to this point, they seem more willing to try other variants like Pineapple, Chowaha, 5-Card Omaha, 6-Card Omaha, etc.

Great chart, but missing Razzaho (blue) and Shodugi (orange/pink). :)

Is it strange that the Orange games are my 2 favorite “circus” games and are staples in my home game but the the 2 Pink games on either side I don’t care for?

Not every game is included in the free version, just the foundational ones. You have to purchase the expansion pack to get all of them!

I think that’s not unusual at all. Those two are definitely not for everyone. Scrotum is simply a dangerous game, and Scarney is both dangerous and math-heavy if you are really utilizing all the information that is available on both boards.

Pfffft, please……it’s not math heavy if you get it all in pre like God intended!
