Hi!

I am new in the poker chip world. I like playing poker sometimes with my friends, usually we are around 5-7 people. We just play for fun and have so far used a typical "dice" set (30-40$). However, I want something of better quality :)

I've searched the forums a bit but most of the recommended options are in the US - I am located in Norway. Can somebody recommend me a set which I can buy in Europe? My budget is around 200$.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello & welcome at PCF Fisk

Keep an eye on the classifieds, china clays are a big upgrade from dice chips and within your budget.
But before that, decide on a breakdown & buy samples (via EU members)

What kind of stakes do you play ?

Greetings Thomas

Hello! What is your typical buy-in, blinds, and stakes? This could better help people answer your question, although at this time the biggest hurdle will be your $200 budget.

That being said, starting budgets are known to eventual double, triple, or so on around here :cool.

Thanks for the tips.

To be honest we've only followed the rules supplied with the dice set. I guess they may be somewhat simplified? You buy in with 50 - 100 NOK (5-10$). That gives you a set amount of chips. Small blind is 1 of the smallest chip and big blind is 2 of the smallest chip. The person with most chips after a set amount of rounds wins the total stake.

We do however want to use regular rules going forward, but I think many chips of the smallest denomination would be smart as we tend to not use many of the larger..

There is a local selling a used set of ChipCo chips (?) (500 pcs) for roughly 300$.

100 5-chips
100 10-chips
100 25-chips
100 50-chips
50 100-chips
25 500-chips
25 1000-chips

He say they are "old" ceramic ChipCo chips weighing 10g each. Is this an OK set for the price?

Thanks for the update. I’ll stop pimping them.
