Found a couple Jack Detroit GO chips with the mold so off center it's visible from the side of the barrel, almost like flea bites. I've never seen this before with RHC chips, but found two of them just in the one mint rack I have. Any one else noticed this?

Yes, I’ve seen a few new RHC where the top of the hat had the thinnest sliver of clay that just a touch broke it off and created an instant flea-bite.

My theory on these off center molds is that they went into the lathe a little off center, so they were trimmed a little too close on one side.

Makes sense, especially for the chip on the left, where you can see obvious differences in thickness of the edge spots. Much less obvious for the chip on the right.
