What happened while I was away!? (3 Viewers)

Well,

"First the Earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes...."
Brilliant.

This is a great option...

no-frills but functional low-cost clay set

Ok, so I ordered a couple sample sets. Are those Milanos the "clay" budget option these days? Are they the best step down from CPC? Also ordered samples from BR Pro of their stock Valentino chips. Meh.. Do BR Pro and Nevada
Jack's come from the same manufacturer? I had a sample set of Skulls once upon a time.

I'm considering a BR Pro Homage to my old Chipcos.

I am in the process of relabeling a mix of some HSI and jack cinci chips as a tournament set. the only one more than $1/chip was the blue one. You can still get used $5, $25, $100 from the chip room. I have some used HSI $1's for sale as do others.

You could put something together.

Or jump in on the cards mold ceramic group buy, the quality is pretty good and price can't be beat.

Milanos are not even the best step up from dice chips, and the worst of the china clays, imo (also why they are the least expensive cc option).

China clays are not compression-molded clay chips -- they are injection-molded plastic with additives (silicates and carbonates) and cheap laminated adhesive-backed labels, trying to emulate the chalky-like feel and inlay of a clay chip.

BRPro, ABC, and NJ chips are now all made by the same company (ABC), but the NJ chips are made using different (textured) blanks. They also offer genuine Chipco blanks for a premium.

Honestly, there seem to be alot of people selling off their CPC sets right lately. Here's a couple that are both in the classifieds at a fairly reduce rate from what they cost from CPC, even though in one case they've never been in play. I think they're both in the Hall of Fame too, but could be wrong about that. Either way, if you're looking for clays and want a discount over the CPC price but don't care about customizing them, these are good deals.

Ugh, should have asked before I ordered samples..... Thanks for the info on the ceramics.
