I've been searching online and I've been searching this forum for over a month now. And I'm officially at decision paralysis. I have samples of everything from Monte Carlos to Paulsons. And I've decided I want to build a comprehensive custom ceramic cash and tournament sets. However, I cant right now. I don't have enough scratch, but more importantly I need to get the wife on board.
But at the same time I'm getting really tired of my super diamonds, and want to step up. So I'm looking for a stop gap. Something that will satisfy me and tide me over so I can save and work on my ceramic design(s).
So what I've essentially boiled down to is looking at a 600 chip cash set for around $100. That's what I have to work with. I know the general consensus on this forum is, dont buy these chips, but I'm not really primed to spend a lot of money on some chips that really don't get me going (china clays, or non-custom ceramics).
That being said the samples that I like the most are the Discount Poker Shop Monaco Casino chips (not a fan of the Outlaw design but heard the material is good), and the Apache Casino Royales. I love the Royale design, and the feel is great in my samples. But I've heard mixed information on this forum as a whole and the only comprehensive review I have is Hobbyphilic's and he is over all pretty positive on them. In fact the Outlaws and the Casino Royales are both recommended at the same level on his 2021 recommendation video.
So I'm tied, does anyone have table experience with these and can offer some insight? Or have another option that blows these out of the water?
