I am looking to build my first grail set capable of handling both cash (1 table .50/1.00 - 1/2) and tournaments (2 tables) for home games. Would love to be able to get any spares and more someone might have sitting around. Looking to build this set slowly at first, and then make larger purchases once I start my new job. I'm really hoping to find some of the custom ordered chips seen floating around. i.e. Pink 5k's, Yellow 5's, blue 500's Kudo's to all of those who made some, they look so so sweet...

Happy to purchase extras, etc. whatever needed to accomplish goal. Extras will be passed along to others at cost in similar searches.

I am also looking for 3 racks of the v1 (WTHC colors) $1 chip to round out the set.

Interested in/hoping for/dreaming of after all said and done:
.25 PCR custom x 200
.50 PCR/Avalon pink v2 chip x 200
1.00 PCR v1 x 300
1.00 PCR v2 x 300
5.00 PCR v2 x 260
5.00 PCR cali yellow/orange 1k v2 x 260
10.00 PCR v2 x 40
25.00 PCR v2 x 160
100 PCR v2 x 160 160/160 I have 30 to sell/use as trade bait
500 PCR v2 x 80
1000 PCR v2 x 160 64/160
5000 PCR v2 x 40 40/40
5000 PCR custom v2 pink x 40

PCR Trade bait:
114 x 25.00 v1 (I might keep these, I don't know..)
30 x 100 v2
99 x 500 v1 (I might keep these, I don't know..)
64 x 1000 v1

Please and Thank you!
Jon

Give me a shout when you start your new job :) - I have some of these to go I think! Quite a few racks
in fact. No hurry.

Best
Chris
Very cool chips! There seem to be so many different sets out there that I have never seen before. How much do these typically sell for?

Just hosted my first cash game in 16 months, and decided to go with my PCR set. Still love the way they handle, and I actually got compliments on the chips for a change…

Awesome, thanks Chris! Will do

Thats what I'm trying to figure as well too. Need more time to dig, and need to check eBay, but recent sales don't seem to be jumping out everywhere.

Your thread back in 2019 has a lot of nice information. Were you ever able to find the lighter 25's?

I have six barrels of the green PCR v2 $25s. At one point iirc I found some matching Avalons but I must have traded those.

$25 x 120 ($3K) is just barely adequate for my cash game, which runs mainly as 1/2 but sometimes as 2/5. I have tons of 5s, which helps.

With the latter stakes, I have 100s and also some 500s if things get deep or someone amasses too many 25s.

Would love to find 4 more barrels of the greens just to fill things out a bit.

Sounds like its not impossible, but also a good thing I wont need too many. Who knows, seeing that pink 5k in the custom set above makes me really want to search hard for some like that, and gives me hope there are more PCR's out there, with variations too.

Educational bump. Been searching for info on PCR and came across this gem originally posted by BGinGA:

"The 8th Paulson mold: the card pip mold, commonly referred to as 'suits'. First used on the Pharaoh's Club no-denom home chips, later used for Paulson's World TH&C home chips. Also used to produce Private Cardroom, Avalon Club, High Roller, Grand Cardroom, and other semi-custom hot-stamps for ApachePokerChips.

The mold contains four sets of card suits (spade, diamond, club, heart) with each set separated by a single Hat and Cane with right-facing cane."

The thread it was pulled from was pretty cool too: Paulson TH&C indentification and amount produced

I’d not realized that these high denom suits molds were referred to as “High Rollers.” There’s a pic of samples at:

Also, as I understand it, the Grand Cardroom suits molds are tournament solids. The sample set linked below shows some suits solids, but also another Grand Cardroom tournament hot stamped configuration, with spots on the shell mold... Not sure if those were customs?

Grand Cardroom_paulson+BCC.jpg

2002:
Charles Endy and son Mike Endy started the Blue Chip Company (BCC) in 2002 following the reverse merger of Paul-Son and B&G that created Gaming Partners International (GPI). BCC was later purchased by GPI in 2012.

2004-2005:
GPI begins manufacturing Paulson chips for the home market using glossy inlays and two non-casino molds -- the PAULSON CHIPS mold and the Card Pips (suits) mold -- in a deal brokered by distributor Trademark Poker. Offerings included the colored-inlay Top Hat & Cane (often referred to as Classics), Casino de Isthmus City, National Poker Series, World Top Hat & Cane, and Pharaoh's Club & Casino. Chiptalk.net was founded as a vehicle for design, group buy orders and distribution of the initial run of Pharaoh's Club chips. Hot-stamped chips on the Card Pips mold (Private Cardroom, Avalon Club, Grand Cardroom, and custom stamped solids) are later made available from Apache Poker Chips.

2012:
GPI buys Blue Chip Co. assets, and later offers a new Blue Chip line of lower-cost low-denomination/no-value chips using limited spot patterns and ten BCC colors on the Sun mold (renamed 'Flower' mold).

Ya, those BCC's are really sweet. There is a lot of great info in the thread quoted above too. But no clarity if custom.

Edit: added picture

There were several group buys of BCC hot-stamped flame mold Grand Cardroom chips, in various colors and spot configurations (including solids). No individual 'customs' per se afaik. Also one gb set on the sun mold.

Thank you for this information sir! Have to say it is always a pleasure to come across the tidbits of knowledge you always willing to share. With this I was able to get a more fruitful search and came across even more info. Can be tricky here as some random thread can have great informational gems sprinkled throughout. Pardon the extra alerts with the quotes below, but just want to consolidate this info. I still occasionally try searching chiptalk through the wayback machine, but really hard to navigate and find stuff..

More info for those interested:

Not totally sure of Apache's involvement with PAULSON CHIPS mold Classics or NPS (which was designed by J5), but I think those were both Trademark Poker projects --- and the Grand Cardroom chips were never stamped on that mold. GCR was initially offered on BCC chips (two different molds, flame and TFP).

After the card pip (suits) mold was introduced (World THC), Apache worked with Trademark and offered hot-stamped chips on that mold using stock GPI/Paulson home market colors/spots (no solids were available): Avalons, High Rollers, stock die and custom hot-stamps, and a few one-off chips (Bahama, PNY, and PCA fracs, and much later the THC frac). Sidepot's Noir line used chips from the same pool of stock GPI/Paulson home market colors/spots (typically drawn from the NPS and World THC lines).

It wasn't until later that 2nd-best Josh offered to work with Josh @ apache and the CT group buy for Paulson GCR chips was born (first-time-available solid colors on the card pip mold). No spotted Paulson GCR chips were ever produced. Apache also opened up the five solid colors for stock die and custom hot-stamps with a 1000-chip minimum order. Apache's offerings were brokered through Trademark Poker, one of the few non-casino companies that deals directly with GPI.

Thread: Commander in Chief

The Grand Cardroom artwork was used on four different BCC mold hot-stamp projects on at least five (maybe six) occasions using the TFP, flame, Desert Palms, and 50mm plain molds. Also produced twice on the Paulson card-pips mold.

Johnny5 did the excellent artwork, and (second-best) Josh from Indy owns the production rights (likely in conjunction with J5) and all of the various hot-stamp dies produced, after buying out partners MiandSh2000 and MarkC79 (of Royal Poker/Cardroom fame).

A lot of the original group buy threads were lost, as they were considered a commercial venture and the threads were pulled after the required temporary site sponsorship expired. Really stupid policy, considering that they contained priceless contributions by many members within, including developed ideas and final pr0n.

I love the stamp (and chips), but personally, I'd rather see something fresh for the current project.

Thread: CPC Hot Stamp Forum Tourney Chip Designs (linked to page 2, discussion starts end page 1). Really wish that chiptalk link still worked..

I think they are the same chip as the yellow T1000 with a custom stamp. I suspect the lighting in the photo just makes them look like arc yellow.
