I haven't been around much for a few months been working 17 hour days six days a week and had a few call ins for weekend night shifts.

Welcome to all that saw the light and made there way from the other place.

About two weeks ago our upstairs bath tube drain started leaking so we decided to demo our ugly bathroom and create something nice being I had a few days off coming up. It had a pink tube with brown walls. We (my wife) decided that a big shower would be better. So here is some pictures. There is no before demo picture I was afraid it might break the camera.

End of day 2

We went with a kerdi shower system and put in two independent shower heads.

More pics to come as day 3 continues

This is the vanity that is about to get destroyed now imagine pink tile and a pink tube in the same room

I'm getting flashbacks. :) Will be following!

Did you use any sound insulation? I plan to re-do my upstairs full bath next year. Will be using roxul in the wall cavities.

We gutted/replaced our tub for a giant shower a couple of years ago, and it has been the best of upgrades! You may also want to consider multiple showerheads (we went with 2) and a bench (for those days you are just too exhausted to stand).

That looks great! Our main bath has a Jacuzzi tub that we don't use. It was there when I bought the house. The first time I turned it on to run some cleaner through it is leaked. Sounded like a B52 Bomber taking off too. I disconnected the power to it and reused the dedicated line for something else.

I didn't put any insulation in never thought of it

We are redoing our other bathroom as soon as this on is done. It will have a tub in it

End of day 3

Day 5
Had a slow start we had a meeting with the little helpers teacher. then the site Forman said we needed to order the vanity. I refused to go to work without lunch so didn't start until 2:30

Is that an iPad or an air vent behind the yellow bucket.

Here is what the end of day 5 looked like

Ugh, that is such a bummer -- gawd, you're all excited & have the time to do it but are stopped by something like this (not your fault). So frustrating. I've done many, many projects over the years and I must say you're doing great work. Looks awesome! How long to get the replacement vanity?

Thank you
Probably a week or maybe 2

This has been a long project, but the results are sweet! Are you going to finish it with a curtain or a glass door? It would be a shame to hide the result of months of labor.

That black tile would make a great chip.

Oooohhh.... Chips would make great tiles!

I put up a spring loaded curtain rod and curtain. Mostly because the glass doors are very expensive and we are selling our house soon the buyer may not like it. I finally had the chance to use it about a week ago it works great.
