I know there aren't many octagon or race track fans, but I'm keeping both. I'm having this rebuilt. It will essentially be the same, but larger. One difference I'm considering is adding a raised rail.

So, the same table, but with a raise rail, like Picture 2. I've never played with a raised rail. It's a smaller table, so no one is flinging cards hard, etc. Any downside here?
So Picture 1 vs Picture 2

I initially never played on a table with a raised rail. After playing at my tables, I don’t know if I can ever go back.

Just curious but why? What is better. I’ve never played on one but will be building one soon.
The first thing you notice is when dealing, cards don’t get stuck under the felt. The next thing I’ve noticed is the angle my my wrists seems to be much more comfortable. It feels much more seamless.

I chose to not have a racetrack (don’t like the look of them and the manufacturer advised that they aren’t as popular)

It’s interesting. I met with Irish yesterday to discuss my table. He has an oval, with raised rail. Very nice table obviously.
When I look at ovals, I wouldn’t like a track. A betting line serves well and looks better, as does the raised rail.
When I look at octagon tables, I like the track and it’s worked well for us. With a slightly raised playing surface, it also gives a rail look and feel. We’ll see how that plays on my table, once Irish completes it.

They look great how hard are they to install I am just wounding for future references . An just wounding how made the table they did a great job.

Pharaoh Manufacturing out of Glendale, CA. Got a tour of their facility and everything is built completely custom in their facility. Amazing work.

2 sets ordered already from CPC. Just waiting now.

Now that's a good come back. That's sick!! I need some CPC in my life.

As far as raised rails go I was never really that big of a fan until I made a small/quick one for a friend and we raised the rail only a little, 3/4", and I LOVE it for some reason.
