Anyone have an opinion of the CPC rounders CSQ vs Scroll? Are they as good as a Paulson or should I wait for a used set?

I like CSQ over the scroll mold. Bonus that it is one of the cheaper molds in CPC's arsenal!

I prefer CSQ over Scroll. As far as being as good as Paulsons your best bet is to get samples and decide for yourself.

One of my future sets will be a csq tourney rounders set with a few minor color changes.
I’ve never really liked scrolls from cpc.

You should make your own opinion, as I think it is a matter of taste. CPC and Paulson are both top quality, but different in feel. I for myself don't have a clear preference, and I therefore have some of both. Neither of the two molds are among my CPC favorites, the squares looking misfit in the circles and the scrolls being too busy. Get some samples and do what you want. It's your money, and the chips aren't cheap.

Y'all are nuts.....

;)

Get samples!

Nice set.Out of curiosity, why would you buy oversized chips? Are they suppose to me a higher denomination in the game?

The two molds have night and day different feels. The scrolls are *sharp*, every detail is super sharp, as are the edges. CSQs have a much smoother / softer feel to them. Seriously, get samples.

I was just thinking that. With only two molds for 44 mm, I think scroll is the right choice
At least in the current run, 44mm A mold was significantly more popular, only a couple small add on orders for scroll 44’s.

So yes, the (loose) standard is for $1ks and up to be oversized. But for me, the reason I chose the 44’s for my low denom cash set was the feel. Once I had the opportunity to shuffle/do chip tricks with the 44’s there was effectively zero chance I would ever buy 39mm chips again.

Disclaimer — I’m a taller guy with big hands, so 44’s to me probably feel like 39’s to an ‘average’ person

The scroll feels more "open edged".I feel that the elephant/crown, FDL (fleur de lieux), would be worse with wear down but they look good. I love that bricky look from the side profile. I just got the 15 mould sample set and a sample of CSQ rounders. Must say the CSQ or surprisingly the B mold are my faves. A mold was a little fainter and less pronounced.

I have a color sample set that is 95% the A mold, but there is one CSQ. It feels significantly smoother and less "chalky" than the A. Is that an anomaly or is that true for people who have bought sets of CSQ?

I have some experience with CPC also. I own a set of CSQs.

I have sampled all of the molds except for B Mold. It's amazing the different things people will discern for themselves!

Samples. Samples. Samples.

I'd never go for the Scroll. Can't stand it. Dont like how it looks or feels. I LOVE my CSQs.

One fine day, if I get far along enough in this chip racket, I'll go custom and ONLY on the Sm Crown mold.
