OK, so we could have a crowd from anywhere from 10 and 30 people so up for this.......

Thinking of starting stacks of 15K
8/8/4/7/1
denoms of
25
100
500
1000
5000
10000

Blind levels of
25/50
50/100
75/150
Break, color up the 25s
100/200
200/400
300/600
400/800
500/1000
Break color up 100s and 500s
1000/2000
2000/4000
3000/6000
4000/8000
5000/10000

Thinking it should last about 3.5 hours

ANY thoughts/concerns/suggestions

if I only have 8 to 12 players do I use a different blind structor? Do you have 1 for a bigger turnout compared to a smaller one?

thanks in advance

how long are your blinds? 15mins or 20mins?

if 30 players come expect more like 4.5-5.5hrs for the game depending on breaks etc.... that is some deep stack tourney.....

That is a sharp increase in blinds from break to break. Check this out.

This gives you a smoother increase in bkinds. On this schedule for 8 to 12 players you should end around level 12. Just change your round time to alter your tournament length.

Looks good I usually do something very similar to this

what would you do 10k, 15k or 20k starting stack
Starting stack 15k, with first blinds 100/100 means more tight players and more technical play like open x2 preflop and no cbet if you don't hit on the flop. With 20k starting stack you'll have a little bit more random play like players that flat with trash hands. It's your choice. In both cases I suggest 20 minutes blinds. Let me know what you decide :)

This is a bit turbo-ish, especially if you're including breaks in that time. I recommend at least 4 hours for 30 players excluding breaks. Personally, I do 5h30min (plus breaks) for my ~20 player tournaments.

Step 1: choose a structure, preferably without any doubling of blinds (except maybe from L1->L2)
Step 2: Calculate the last blind level: Most tournaments end before or on the level where there are only ~20 big blinds left in play.
Step 3: Set the level duration so that the tourney ends when you want it to. Don't forget the breaks.
Step 4: If you feel the levels are too long or short, then adapt the structure (adding, removing, or changing levels) and restart at step 1.

what is your starting stack in this scenario

and this month we should have 27 people, maybe even 30

OK so we did last this last month
15K starting stack with 18 players stacks were
12 $25
12 $100
5 $500
11 $1,000
Cards in the air at 6:30
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
break and color up
200/400
300/600
500/800
800/1,600
Break and color up
1,000/2000
2,000/4,000
3,000/6,000
4,000/8,000
5,000/10,000
7,000/14,000
Finished at 11:08

I did like it, gave everyone a chance to play
we didn't get to final table until about 10:15

I am a little nervous if we get another full table we may go longer, being a school night I rally don't want to go to midnight

but with this schedule and buy in, there will be roughly 29 big blinds when we get to the final level and last 2 players...........Does that seem like it is correct

Makes no sense to me to turn a perfectly fine tournament structure into a shovefest for the last 25% of the event by doubling the blinds every level.
