@Taghkanic started a great thread about what we didn't expect to learn on PCF. I wanted to highlight something else I'm grateful to you all for: giving me at least semi-informed opinions that I've become incredibly steadfast in and stubborn about.

Before I got to PCF, all I really cared about when playing poker was that a) I had chips and b) was enjoying the environment. This went for both casinos/cardrooms and home games. Like everyone else, I was initially happy with dice chips and plastic-coated cards. I thought that was bliss. Now? I can't stop being a dick about this stuff. This morning when discussing whether poker night would be home/away, words that actually came out of my mouth were "my Fourniers take a dump on your Bellagio Bee decks, they're bowed to oblivion." My buddy asked me which cards he should get then, and I went on for 5 minutes about the intricacies of PVC vs cellulose acetate. Did he give a shit? Definitely not. Did I give a shit that he did not give a shit? Definitely not.

I told my crew last game that I was getting new chips eventually (shoutout @SeanGecko and his group buy). They asked me, "what are you putting on the chips?" Any normal human being says, "the cash set says the name of our game, and the tournament set is a tribute to my grandfather." Instead I took the opportunity to explain my edgespot patterns and how excited I am to get molded ceramics. Once I got to "3V12 and card mold" I knew I'd lost the peanut gallery.

You guys have turned me into a madman and I can't thank you enough. VIVE LE PCF!

I gifted my regular players Desjgn cards last year. That way when they host those come out instead of the paper Bicycle cards.

I prefer the better stuff, but I'll play poker or cards with about anything. I'd rather play than not.

Played with dice chips on Monday. I'll play Sheephead with regular old Bicycle cards tonight. I'm just happy to play.
