Today's video is about the El Cortez! A living downtown Las Vegas legend that has been there since 1941! It was even owned by the mob at one point, click the link to watch the full video!

Also have been thinking about making a single thread for all of my videos, what do you guys think about that? Would it be more beneficial to have them all in one thread or do the separate threads make it easier let's say if someone was trying to find history about a certain casino they could directly find the thread made for that place. I've been thinking about doing this but haven't quite made the decision.

Let me know what you guys think:

Great video. Love the history of a place I've walked past numerous times over the years.

Thanks for producing and posting. I’ve always preferred downtown and enjoyed playing at El Cortez during the late 80s through the mid 90s at which point it really became run down. Went back last year and was stunned by the upgrades and appreciated the generally hospitable atmosphere. It was a nice place to play again - 10x Odds on craps, but the pit personnel sweated the single deck game to the point of driving away basic strategy players. The double deck from a shoe was a better game, but more than a modest bet spread not advised

I’m sitting out the COVID restrictions - wearing a stifling mask, waiting for seats to open, etc doesn’t sound like an enjoyable time - but I will probably check out EC first when things begin returning to norm

I rarely see El Cortez chips offered on eBay. Anyone know of a good source? Interesting story behind the WMK’s, but I never played them so no interest in collecting

Thanks again for the video

Thanks for watching and glad you could share!

Thanks for posting. We did 3 nights/days of our summer trip at El Cortez in August. The updated rooms are actually very nice. We had a good time there.

Great video. I must have walked past the El Cortez when I was in Vegas. Will need to check it out next time I’m there.

Fun Video
I don't often go downtown Vegas when I am there, but when I do I certainly enjoy myself. I have been to Vegas probably 2 or 3 dozen times, but I can't say that I have ever been inside El Cortez. I don't really gamble much any more, unless you call Poker gambling, so when I am there most of my time is spent at one of the better card rooms. I do love the history and such of Vegas so next time I am there (Go AWAY Covid 19) I will make a point of stopping in and playing craps or something.
