Hi, Im Jon and I live in Lausanne Switzerland.

I'm really happy to have found this place. I have been enjoying poking around the classifieds, learning about the chips and seeing the different designs. It's been a long time coming for a nice set and feel like this is the perfect place to realize what that is, and most likely where to get it too.

Would be curious of any thoughts on best places to find these random old vegas poker chips, how could anyone not need at least one?? Seems safe to think the classifieds here would be a better place than many to start, just need to be quick with the dibs.

I look forward to meeting you here, and hopefully around switzerland too. I especially enjoy PLO8, but up for any game really.

ZAPPA!!

Welcome! Singles here are a great option as well as eBay (minus their cruddy fees) and you can also try thechipboard.com

Hello and welcome! Check the classified section...I believe there are a few singles ads open right now!

Hi Jon
Welcome. Always great to see some Swiss fellas showing up here.
Classifieds and vendor sales are the most promising place to find what you are looking for.
You could also check eBay, but trust me, these guys here are so fast, if you see it, its not a bargain.
Else open a Want to buy in the classifieds.
Good Luck

Thank you for the link kind sir. Will be sure to check it out. I do have a conus address I can use, so probably build up a stash and then ship abroad. :cool.

The classified section here seems to be a really great place to acquire good stuff at reasonable prices. I enjoy spending wayyyy too much time there..

Thanks for the warm welcome, and swiss perspective to getting chips here. I am a new Swiss resident (2years) but proud to represent!! From what I am seeing your assessment re: eBay and this site is spot on, and really enjoy reading/following the not my ad posts.

I look forward to being able to have full access to all the classified options, but till then just trying to generate the necessary requirements as genuine/naturally as possible. I have a feeling the want to buy feature will be an excellent way to go.

Welcome from Zürich!

In addition to the above, check out https://www.casinoshop.ch/ in Switzerland. They always have a bunch of Vegas singles. Prices vary, but sometimes there’s a deal to be found. Good luck and hope to see you at a table someday here!
Thanks for the additional info, I have come across their site before, but was when I was just looking at sets and need to go back and check out singles/samples. I have already seen we share excellent tastes in chips, and always appreciate your perspective. Its a shame the group buy was not able to move forward, but at least gives me more time to design my chips.

Agree, look forward to playing at the same table one day.

Hi, I’m Jon too :) welcome to the forum and goodluck in your quest for chips

Hey, forgot to ask if you a hockey fan? Seems so with your avatar, but that would just be an assumption.. Long time playing pond hockey here with luke warm feelings for NHL, but really appreciate/love the swiss hockey league here. So much better. Go Lausanne!!!

You are welcome. That is a common practice for international members here. Happy collecting! -Brie

I’m from Edmonton, Canada originally - big hockey fan. Used to have season seats for the Oilers until I moved. Been in Zurich 8 years now, been to a couple games in Davos, but haven‘t been able to get into Swiss League hockey, personally. Give me the NHL any day of the week, even if my hometown team is a perennial laughing stock.

From New England here and a Whalers fan so get the perennial laughing stock thing.. However(this is a big however), I grew up with the 80's Edmonton Oilers, so at least you had that, and that was pretty friggin epic.. Still remember the day when Gretzky was traded to L.A... Don't care now, but hit me pretty hard then. Thing that bugs me about the NHL is the heavy handed attempts to make the game and league "better", I just don't think the NHL has been the best steward for the game, but totally agree and get what you are saying.

Living in NYC it was difficult to just pop into a game. Here in Lausanne you can practically just walk in, the fans are amazing, and its a lot of fun to attend and participate. There is a pretty healthy rivalry with Zurich too. o_O

I loved this movie when I was a kid in Paris (watched several times lol).
But hockey is not popular in France :(
Nice reference!! Me too, I was 13 when it came out and saw it about a million times..

At that point in time I was really into cycling too. I was probably one of a hand full of kids in all of America who knew who Laurent Fignon was.. Not cool..

Not many better places for cycling than around Lausanne - routes galore! (If you’re still into it that is)

Ya, pretty insane here on many levels.. Best move we ever made. Took a bit to get used to the hills, but ended up getting my bike stolen anyway, so thinking of pivoting from the road towards trail and mountain. Also want to make a trip to belgium one day to see some of these spring festival races I heard about in the states. Was in Edmonton once around mid/later 2000's for the bike messenger world championships, that was pretty cool too.

The Tour will be near your neck of the woods this year - definitely worth checking out a stage live if you haven't had the chance before!

As for the bike situation: why choose, buy both! ;) (though, given the choice, I'd take road cycling any day of the week over here)

Little bet for tonights game?
Thanks for the heads up, gonna have family over this eve, so don't think I'll be able to catch the game, but maybe catch the end if I can.. I'm in no position to bet any money now(looking for work) but certainly interested in the outcome. Open to friendly type stuff if that is what you were referring to.

*just went to check standings*

Huh.. I see you guys slipped to 4th, but seems super close between the top, and really meaningless at this point. Thanks for the refresh as I have not been paying attention at all, and I could use some more hockey in my life right now.

Go Lausanne!!!! :p

It has been 2 months, and have to say this place is really awesome. I just scored my first little set, and looking forward to building on it a little bit more.

However, it is perfect for a single table. Once this next lockdown ends its time to get a friendly game going fellow swiss peeps.

This is what came today :)
