I got a bottle of Jagermeister at least 25 years ago as a gift. It is unopened with the paper seal intact.
Never a big fan, usually had it as shots after a WHOLE lotta beers. Always thought it tasted kinda like NyQuil.
Today is my son’s 21st birthday and he asked if we should crack it open. I’m curious if you think it is still ok, maybe spoiled? I know liquor can last, but this is an herb liqueur...
It’s also possible that it may have spoiled and I still wouldn’t be able recognize it. :ROFLMAO:
Thoughts?

The only safe way to drink it is to drop the shot into a glass a sugar free redbull and then pound the whole concoction in one gulp. The chemicals in sugar free redbull will interact with the free radicals in your stale yager to kill off any goopy germs and keep you ready to party.

The good news with alcohol is nothing can live in it that will make you ill. The flavor might be "off" but I doubt it if it's still sealed. Generally liquor flavor will begin to degrade about a year after being opened.

Edit to add - an exception is anything with cream/dairy, or low alcohol content and lots of added sugar which can spoil much quicker after opening.

The sealed part is important. If it really was sealed all those years then I would say it is still fine as it is still pretty high alcohol content. If it was a lower alcohol product I would be concerned.

Taste won't be the same but I would wager its safe to drink.

This is one of my favorite threads of the whole year.
