I don’t see much pron of these chips here. I’m hoping owners will post more pics of these beauty’s. To me Wynn is the cream of the crop, but that’s because I’m influenced by the Wynn in Macau. It’s like the Bellagio for people state side. All the biggest nosebleeds in the world were played there at one point. I still remember many late nights railing huge games and watching Tom Dwan play there.

I’m quite happy to have accumulated ~1000 of these, although without many 25’s.

I’ll take more pics soon but here are a couple initial pics (which I’ve posted in other threads already, but that’s ok).

Another variety is currently available on eBay as a sample set (a few PCF posts have images of these as well). Really nice, too.

Update: Via ChipGuide, I found the 1000 to complete the set (no 5000 listed). So nice!

So, from the Wynn Poker Room Twitter feed, definitely live chips. For poker, it looks like they use the standard casino cash chips plus (at least) two different tournament sets.

But what does that mean? Either an inside employee snag or a player bought-in and skimmed a few chips? Can you just buy-in and walk out with all your chips? Maybe good way to build a tournament set (or wind up in the slammer)!?

Hi Birdcage

All chips are property of the casino so any chip leaving a casino could be seen as stealing.

Unlike cash chips, where if you steal a $5 chip the casino makes a profit. (cost $1 to make and sell for $5) So they don't really care.

But tourney chips are very different. Especially if they are live. They are property of the casino and can only be stolen. (funny that i see eBay allowing selling stolen goods but thats off topic)

In the WSOP if you pocket a chip and you get busted there is a ban for life from all future events and you forefit any buyin and prize money. Also they are stolen property. so strictly speaking there are possible legal charges but i'd never think a casino would go that far.

No casino likes you removing tourney chips and as a result they are rare. That's why they command stupid prices.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I found this story about a WSOP winner that snagged a chip as a "souvenir". Lifetime ban and title stripped!

That certainly makes acquiring and selling live tournament chips on eBay a very bold move. Wynn could just buy them and begin investigating how they were acquired. Most packages include a return address and eBay readily discloses seller info after a purchase.

Every time I see these chips, it takes me back to this @justsomedude classic.

And to think we considered $4.20/chip absolutely bonkers at the time (some still would I'd figure). What a difference 5+ years makes. This was pre-NAGB (well, ES was being designed) and life was simpler then. All we did was talk about hot dog sandwiches, engage in toxic political battles, and post stupid memes.

Ok, so maybe things haven't changed that much. But at least we didn't have Poppin 1 & 2, so there's that.

This bump got me thinking of when I got these chips and broke them into sets.

It was by far the highest initial chip offering, ICO, that I introduced. And people were not snapping up the limited sets.

Love me some Wynnnnnnn PR0N

WSOP did a good job actually and was using several different tourney sets with different buy ins too

I feel like a proud father. Nicely done @Chbyfngr !

Sadly, I no longer own this grail set. I sold mine after some news came out about Steve Wynn that pissed me off, and which I can't get into without this thread being moved to the politics forum lol. But I still love the chips themselves. One of the greatest tourney sets of all time, per my tastes.

why not murder and relabel them in protest?
