Hi there, recently got really fond of poker and pokerchips so I thought, let's make an account. I immediately had a question, was thinking about ordering 500 Milano poker chips, but shipping from the US (apache) is 110 dollars, which is a bit much. I found this website, premiumpoker.eu, but I wasn't able to find out if it was legit or not, as the site was not protected and they asked to transfer money directly into their account. Does someone have experience with this site or have other vendors selling Milano poker chips? Would love to hear from you guys, all the best!

Welcome to the forum...

FYI
Add this to your set cost if you want to order in US

shipping (110 seems excessive for 500 chips, should be 60-70)...double check this with @Apache Josh
add customs VAT (19% in NL on price of chip set+shipping)
add fee from PostNL (10-15 EUR)

Add 3-4 weeks of waiting (sometimes 2-3 weeks)

For china clay, ask around, some EU chippers will chip in ;) (I have no clue on EU vendors)
For clay...check the sales from EU members or bit the bullet for international

Welkom!

pokershop.de is my advice, as pr0naddict said. Price per chip is higher, but fast shipping & lower shipping cost :)

Hi Thomacetti, thank you so much for your reply, you are right, the shipping is around 60-70 euro's, but there are some extra costs! Thanks for reminding me of the VAT and the extra fee. I was wondering what you mean by EU chippers chipping in? And I am new to the forum and don't understand the interface that well yet, where can I see sales from EU members? Thanks in advance for your reply! Currently I am enjoying all the pictures of chip pr0n (especially those insane Paulson sets) a lot so I am having fun on the forum, but have to learn to navigate it still. Thank you!

Hello and welcome.

You could also consider to get the Milano's (or Majestic's) from @pokersepp's shop. He is located in Vienna.

Good Luck.
Thank you very much, I ordered sample sets from him!

Hello and welcome. You may also post a ETB thread into the classified section and ask for EU sellers. That may help as well!
Hi, thank you for your reply! I was wondering what the ETB abbrevation means, thank you! And thanks for your tips:)

Welcome

And enjoy all the resources here

Lots of opportunities to ask questions :)

All my Best Jeff
Thank you very much Jeff! I am a bit worried that I may have found myself another expensive hobby after looking at all the pictures and sets on this forum. But I am enjoying it so far:)

I wanted to say that plenty of EU chippers know more about the availability of china clay & ceramic chips in EU.
Went straight to clay a long time ago (and did not look back) :D

You will get the hang of the interface (it's a very well structured & maintained forum over here).
Most members have their location filled in below the avatar...but after a while you know who EU members are...then you can pick up speed (great deals are often sold within minutes).

Check this thread out :)

Dear Thomacetti, I have a question for you since you seem to have experience with international shipping in the EU;). I ordered some samples from Estonia (don't ask me why), but the package didn't arrive even after two weeks. Called PostNL, they told me the package is in customs, while it was shipped from Europe (Estonia). Is this even legal? Thanks! Sorry, I did not know who else to ask and was wondering if you had experience with this.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'm European and rookie chiper, and this forum is really great, although is plenty of Americans...

It's hard to buy good chips in Europe, it depends what you want.

About the question about Estonia, it's a EU member, so I think there is no customs fees. Maybe it's a matter of security, I don't know.

Good luck with this adventure, and don't look Paulsons, it may be dangerous for your pocket...

A few possible options....

1. these are chinese made chips, sold via EU(-ish) vendor...these are then 'imported' to EU and have to pass customs
2. customs screwed up (would not be the first)...could still be delivered with or without tax and for samples you will not bother to claim the error

More info about seller ?

There are still customs involved between borders. The free movement of goods doesn't mean the free movement of illegal/banned goods. Your package might have been one of the "special" ones awaiting inspection. Lucky you! I wouldn't get too worried just yet...
