Opinions on the Bellagio? (2 Viewers)

I stayed at Bellagio twice and I had great time. We had the standard room but with fountain view which I highly recommend; it's worth every penny.
If you are in your room at night you have a great show every 15 min. just tunes to channel 22x on your TV. I also enjoyed Bellagio Buffet.
Next time I'm in Vegas I will check some of those restaurants you guys recommended :)
I have seen only few shows. I like KA the most.

Have a great time in Vegas!

Cheers buddy, and thanks for the advice. If we do end up staying at the B, will definitely be paying for a room upgrade with a fountain view!

Late to the party but +1 on Cosmo if budget is not an issue. It's mine (and now all my friends) go to spot for special occasions. After your first time in a wraparound terrace suite, it will be hard to stay anywhere else.

Cheers buddy, much appreciated. My thinking is that it is either going to come down to a Bellagio Salone Suite with a fountain view, or a Cosmo Terrace One Bedroom fountain. Haven't heard a bad word about the Cosmo as of yet.

@jr8719 your thread is so popular! Perhaps everyone is living vicariously through you... or planning their own trip out loud. Our poker club is heading to Vegas in a couple of months and will be staying at Bellagio. They gave us a killer group rate, and we're there for the poker. You can even hold it way in advance with no money down. My cousin used to be hotel manager at Bellagio, so my family and friends have stayed in some of their nicest suites. I must admit, its pretty fun when a celebrity wants to know who you are because they get off the floor before you do LOL!!!). Hard not to enjoy that! But I've also stayed at many other places that I enjoyed (of 15 or 20 different hotels in Vegas over the years). IMO staying in a clean, non-smoking nice room/hotel that's contemporary and aesthetically pleasing is one of the best things about going to Vegas. I also don't want to be too far away from the action, but I still want to sleep well and not be right up in it either. Spoiler.... Vegas is isnane! Pricing varies wildly, so if you want to go to the best places for the money or are on any kind of budget, look at rates over time and compare. You might be amazed that you can pay $99 or $750 for the exact same room, so price is not always a valid measure of quality. I have found that the offshoot properties, like MGM Signature (MGM Grand), Palazzo (Venetian) tend to be newer, cleaner, all-suite, condo hotels that have some the best value $99 rooms around if you can go at the right time... comparable even to some of the $500+ rooms I have enjoyed there. Consider paying a marginal fee to upgrade your room. Wherever you end up, I think a view of the strip is a must when it's your first visit (or you don't get to Vegas often). I also love Encore (offshoot of Wynn). My wife's favorite is VDara (which no one else seems to have mentioned). Vdara is next to Aria and Cosmo in the City Center district but cutoff enough from the craziness to allow a non-degenerate (the wifey, rather than me) to escape somewhat the shenanigans of Vegas. And although I have never stayed at Cosmo, I feel certain I eventually will. It's a cool place. BTW one of my favorite steaks ever was there at STK. It's like chop house meets Vegas night club. The smell of truffle butter fills the room! Consider going there whether or not you end up staying at Cosmo. Cosmo does have a bit higher baseline price than other hotels, but it seems like a top notch, trendy spot. Anyway... I can't recall from the last three pages of discussion when you plan this trip to occur, what else you're looking to get out of your trip (shows like La Reve or Cirque du Soleil - Mystere, Ka and O; variety shows like Absenthe or V the Variety Show; magic acts, etc.), or what kind of budget you want to stay within, but I'm sure this thread can more than double in length if you want any more direction. Either way, I hope you enjoy your Vegas trip! I'm sure it will be legendary.

Hahaha, I know, this thread has taken off! That's funny about celebs asking who you at the B, for sure... Have you stayed in one of the Salone suites before and, if so, what were your thoughts?

Like you said, I can't believe the variety on pricing for the same rooms throughout the year: found the Venetian for $119 a night (minus resort fees) in December, but would ideally like to go when it's a little warmer.

I am a huge steak junkie, so will definitely consider STK for a rare fillet! Any other steak joints you'd recommend?

Will definitely be going to O, Blue Man Group and a Vegas Knights game, too.

Thanks for the advice, and hope you and your buddies run good on your upcoming trip.

Well, nice time to bump this thread by saying we just booked a week at the Cosmo (One Bedroom Terrace Fountain View) this morning for next May.

Booked directly with British Airways because their policy is so flexible, as long as we booked before tomorrow: if we can't travel in May, we can change the date of travel all the way up until April 2022.

Viva Las Yay-gas, baby!

Yep, seems like the natural choice for our first time in Vegas. You only get to do it once, so may as well go all out!
Imo one or the best hotel in vegas. Only downside they dont have a poker room. But rooms are spacious, stylish and i do love that the rooms have a balcony/terrace. Customer service was very good too.

Yeah, it was either this room or a Salone suite at the Bellagio (which I imagine will be my go-to for poker anyway). The Japanese soaking tub at the Cosmo was the deal breaker, essentially! Looking forward to trying Eggslut and District for breakfast... any other eateries at the hotel worth our time and money, in your opinion? Wicked Spoon?

When im in vegas iam eating almost only fastfood, as we only have mcdonalds and kebap in switzerland:) at least till now, with celiac disease it will be a bit more difficult or healthier. So unfortunately i really dont know any of the fine dining restaurants at the cosmo. If you like sandwiches, lardo is the place to go:)

Lardo sounds right up my street... and an accurate reflection of my weight and body once I come back from Vegas, I'd imagine!

You can't beat Vegas :/ I always take with me running shoes & stuff when I'm there, out at 05:30 am, then back at the hotel by 06:30 as it's too damn hot already. And I try to watch my eating. Still, Vegas wins every single time.

I always stay at the cosmo. It’s great and right next door to the Bellagio. If u plan to do some hard core gambling pm me, I will connect u with my host.

Grab breakfast at Eggslut in Cosmo - it'll be hard to miss with the morning line!

If you are looking for a variety of pools to visit, you can always try asking the front desk at Bellagio and Aria for a blank room key as a 'souvenir,' then use it to get into their pools.

Wont it have to be programmed to work anywhere in the property?

If you like breakfast and don't mind taking an Uber (or have a car) I always visit Hash House at the Rio when I'm in town. Whenever I bring the Mrs. we visit Peppermill up the strip as she likes the old school Vegas feel there, plus the food is delicious.

@RichMahogany
I believe MGM Grand is the only pool on the strip where I've seen them scan the room key, everybody else just has you flash the key card. My Vegas bag has a collection of most strip hotels, however my go-to pools are Cosmo, Bellagio, and Aria. (Cosmo keys change color every quarter, but will basically always work at the Chelsea pool, 50/50 on the Boulevard pool)

Wwwww, will definitely have to check Lemongrass as I love Thai! And I'd imagine the only running I'll be doing will be:

a.) To the front of the buffet queues every day.
b.) Back and forth from the cage to the nearest empty table, where I'll hopefully be sorting all my harvested minty chips.

Still, every little counts, right?!

Cheers dude! Yeah, we are buzzing for our stay at the Cosmo, for sure. Hardcore gambling, as in big limits?

Anything in particular worth ordering at Eggslut, in your opinion? As great as some of the other pools do look (primarily the Bellagio's and Caesars'), I think the pools at the Cosmo are standout enough for us to stay put... likewise, their spa!

Oh yes, Peppermill is at the top of our list, for sure! Big portions and an old school Vegas feel? Sold!

The Venetian is the best for a stay with the lady. It has the most amenities and stuff to do within that hotel and the palazzo it’s connected to. That way she won’t be bored while you are off playing poker, and she doesn’t need to take an Uber or taxi everywhere.

100%.The Venetian/Palazzo is incredible. Huge bang for your buck. I believe every room is a suite with a sunken down living room. Endless dining options, shopping, and Venetian has a great casino. Wife and I stay at the palazzo every year.
