Been waiting a long time for these chips, to be completely disgusted with customs/USPS (not surprised really)
This package was held in customs for 3 weeks and moved between facilities with no other information for an additional 2 to 3 weeks. Upon arrival the box didnt feel right, and as soon as I picked up I knew it was bad news. I could hear all the loose chips inside. Upon inspection of the package before opening I was able to spot a clear slice where they had cut open the package and then taped over with 1 piece of white tape on each side. Upon opening the box, I found my chips loose in the bottom with the SFRB that they had previously been packaged in (which was also labeled and addressed per Dave's recommendations) thrown on top completely ripped into pieces. Absolutely disgusting. I hate customs! The chips suffered some flea bites but all 100 made it here (thankfully)
It really really bothers me they can just do whatever they want to other peoples belongings. I feel very strongly that the seller was not at fault here given all the identifiers that proper packaging was attempted at initial shipping. And mostly because I dont believe the seller would throw ($300 worth of) loose chips in a box with slices in it and slap a piece tape on it.

Terrible. Sorry that happened Brie but happy all the chipes arrived.

I’m curious if whatever is listed in the description of contents has anything to do with certain packages being held up.

I do believe "poker chips" tends to trigger them more

I always write “obsolete gaming tokens” so no one thinks they’re worth anything. Does it help? Can’t say but haven’t had any issues sending or receiving overseas chip shipments.
I generally write gaming tokens on there with minimal value

Still, you 'll have to write the true value, or something close to it, unless otherwise directed by the buyer.

I still have yet to experience this, luckily.

Those PCA fracs look to be in really, really bad shape. Least I could do is offer you face value for them to help you recoup your losses...

You've got my shipping info already

By the way, let's see how much compensation my buyer on the other thread gets by USPS, for having most of his chips stolen or "go missing". I had written the full value minus shipping exactly to protect him against this...

It’s happened with a few of mine as well although to be fair to UK customs they put them back in the box neatly, attach details of the inspectors (so there’s traceability) then cover them in some near indestructible shrink wrap that takes forever to remove.

How can a nation apply for colonial status under Her Majesty's Crown?:D

I'm sure a rectangular box filled with tube shaped objects on the x-ray triggered the inspection and nothing else.

I never make it through the airport x-ray without a hand inspection when carrying chips.
