Hi Everyone,

I'm a new member from the Upstate NY area (yes, that big part that has trees and grass and stuff). I have been into playing cards since my father taught me as a child, and the days when 7-stud was the primary spread in a casino.

A couple decades ago a guy I worked with, who is probably already a member here, gave me the quick intro to poker chips. From his advice, I bought a (new) set of Paulson THC molded fantasy chips (Gold Luck Club) that I have been using ever since.

With the recent, COVID related, closure of my local casino, I have been relying on home games for action. This means my chips have been put back into action.

Anyway, hi all, sorry if my lingo isn't right, I'm not hip to the slang yet. :)

Welcome to the forum! Great to heat your chips are getting to see some action! Do you play cash or tournament? Are you still playing stud or have you moved to other games now?

Welcome to the forum!
Here is a funny story:
I had a (very beloved) uncle who was an ethnic Greek from southern Albania (or Northern Epirus) who went as an immigrant to NY City in the early '50s.
His son (my cousin), as a child, confused Albania with Albany and thought his dad was from Upstate :D

welcome, let's see those good luck clubs (assuming typo, but if you actually have a set called gold luck club, we would love to see those too)!

I did that (once I figured out that the max upload size was 1MB) - Good Luck Club Chips

That's all I have right now. I did have another travel set (500 of the James Bond Paulsons red, greens, & blacks only) that I gave to a buddy who only had some horrible plastic chips.

Cash.

Sadly, stud is dead around here, I would if it was an option, and I will still deal it in dealers choice ring games. Other than that, I prefer NL hold'em, when available, but the only consistent action I can find these days is limit Omaha (Hi-Lo).

Yeah, those aren't even close. :)

But he was just a kid, I'm sure my geography was terrible back then (my excuse - I went to public school)

Hello and welcome, I'm joining the crowd of people looking for some pictures of those chips
Check his media. :) Also, hello and welcome!

Gotcha, perhaps check out this:

There's several updates as well, but you can certainly integrate a variety of games into your home cash game if your players are willing to learn! I prefer NL hold'em as well. Omaha has become pretty popular everywhere now a days

Welcome! Always good to see a fellow New Yorker. Whereabouts are you? I'm between Buffalo and Rochester.

I'm in a suburb of Albany (still in Albany county). I'm not too far from the (closed) Rivers casino; it's kinda a dump, but they do have a card room. I guess it's better than the days of having to drive out to Foxwoods.

Greetings! I live in Miami but work out of the Adirondacks in the summers. Gorgeous part of the country. Best of luck chipping.
