Wow.

Backstory: the Ysabel seller was contacted by a local guy in the military who really wanted a set. I was put in touch with the guy and agreed to sell him this set at my cost. I held the chips until he was able to pay, which took a couple of months, with many messages from him stating how excited he was to get the chips and put them into play.

He received the chips last weekend and boom eBay for obviously a huge markup. Last time I do a stranger a favor.

Obviously my picture, too.

I almost gifted the guy the set.

B...B..But I'm in the Military!!

From the ad:

Paulson Poker Chip Set 800 Santa Ysabel Casino chips. This casino went out of business and I was fortunate to get this set, I'm only selling because my motorcycle got stolen and I need money to get another for work. These colors are great together, they look amazing on our poker table. I haven't even been able to play a game with them. :( (Comes with 9 chip racks (only 8 shown in pictures.)

The breakdown:
300x $1 chips. In very good to excellent condition with the exception of a few which show some chipping and wear.
400x $5 chips which all show wear but still have an edge with some rounding.
100x $25 in good condition.

All these chips shuffle well and are a joy to look at, I wish I didn't have to let them go. The $1s are in the best condition of them all, like they weren't played with hardly at all. Please refer to the pictures for condition. Priced at $3/chip which I feel is reasonable for a set That's never going to be produced again. I do need to purchase a bike before the middle of July. That being said I may consider offers so shoot them my way.

Thanks for reading and if you purchase, I hope you'll take good care of such a unique set of chips and play many games with them.

Ps.
Save my contact info I would love to buy them back when I'm not poor.

Oh the irony, that he's probably never going to find someone that's going to pay his asking price anyway.

Well thats unfortunate. So long beloved chipes. Hope someone here can talk some sense to him and bring them back. I hate people that talk a good game and end up being a piece of lint. And I especially hate bad liars, makes me want to slap him with a dead fish. If only people knew how seriously we took chipping, and how much heart goes into it. I cant prove hes lying, but we all know what you paid.
Thanks for your service, sorry about your bike, watch out for that snare I just put in your shower.

Um. Im gonna ask the seller a “question” about his provenance on these chips and his military service.

Either he sold them already or pulled the sale. Hopefully he caught enough shit from this community to pull it. Hope he gets stuck with them.

Yeah they've been up fro a few months IIRC, didn't reach out at all but I'd hope he'd be willing to come down on price.
