Need a new hose (1 Viewer)

Don’t make me tell my Alaska joke, which is hilarious, but contains language intended for mature audiences

Make sure the hose is long enough to reach the areas in your yard or garden that you are intending to moisten. I’m pretty sure www.gardenhoseforum.com has a helpful calculator. You enter in the distance needed to traverse and it will recommend whether you need a 25’, 50’, or 100’ model.

High-quality rubber hoses will withstand cold, heat, and sun exposure better than cheap plastic -- well worth the extra cost imo. Fewer kink and coil up issues, too. Look for brass or stainless steel fittings.

No experience with expandables, other than early TV models were trash.

This. I'd go with the brass, since there's so much quality variance in stainless steel. I have supposedly stainless one hose fitting that has permanently welded itself to the spigot of my pool pump. :(

Also, it generally pays to go with the largest diameter hose you can get, which is usually one inch or 3/4 inch...no 5/8 inch crap or smaller.

We do use a good quality expandable in the lanai for my wife to use in watering her herbs and other plans. It's extremely convenient.

I got some hoses from Harbor Freight recently, and I would rate them as China Clay quality. Pretty good quality, much better than the old leaky hoses I replaced, but one of the fittings is already starting to leak.

Flexzilla is what you want, hands down. No kink, no rot, many colors, very flexible. Readily available on Amazon...you will throw away all hoses after u buy one. I got their air hose for my compressor too.

gardenhoseforum? I would of never guessed. :)

I just picked up the Zero-G hoses for front and back yard. I love how lightweight they are and easy to spool up. The front has to drag over my driveway and I havent notice any signs of wear. Only reason I got the contractor grade for the 75 ft was they didn't have the standard one in place.
