Not Mine Pretty cool Versa 600 chip travel case. (1 Viewer)

I was told the same about my 1,000 chip case and I didnt have any issue with it. They could be correct with this one though.

Assuming Matsui racks can fit, you could invert it to remove the bottom two because the racks are covered. But that may not be a safe assumption.

i dont understand what you are asking. Could you reword the question?

The interior seems rather spacious. I can measure the interior dimensions if you would like? I don’t have Matsui racks.

Just buy a Harbor Freight Apache for much less and call it good, travels way better too.

Thinking about getting a couple of these. Would you recommend it now that you’ve had it for a while?

Yes. I still really like it for my needs. It’s slightly less convenient than a standard birdcage, but much much more durable. I previously had an acrylic birdcage break on me and it was a disaster. We play poker outside and I am usually moving my chips around the house and storing them in different closets. You can stack this Versa on top of other things or stack other things on top of it. I still use Versa briefcase style cases for 500 chips or less tourney sets where having racks isn’t as important. But for my larger cash set I am using this 1k Versa birdcage and for future cash sets I plan to use these.

Ideal. Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll get them ordered

I see in the 600 chip version, the interior space is 1/2" smaller in width AND in length, compared to the 1,000 chip version. No wonder it is more difficult to get the bottom racks out. Silly they would make it smaller for the 600, as they both hold two stacks of racks. :confused
What I really like about these versa cases is the the racks stay upright when carrying, as opposed to the apache that needs all the foam needed to secure the chips and racks when they all get tipped on their side when carried. The Versa is basically a more secure birdcage.

Good grief!! That's really dumb. And totally explains the discrepancy between the 600-chip and 1,000-chip carrier reviews.

This also cements the firm conclusion on Versa: the 500-chip cases are great, the 600 & 1,000 are not.

Good info. I have the 1000-chip version, and I prefer it over an acrylic birdcage or a Pelican-style case when moving chips around in the car. I'd thought about getting a 600 also, but if it really is smaller then I'll stick with the 1000.

Also a protip if you buy one of these. My case arrived with the eggcrate-style foam in the bottom section, which made stacks of racks unstable and allowed the chips to rattle around during transport. If yours comes this way, move the foam to the top. This makes the case easier to load, and it also holds the racks in place when the lid is on.

Although, now I’m confused...on the amazon page, the interior size shown is the same for the 600 and 1,000 cases (obviously height is different). The exterior is different. Not sure where I saw the interior as different. Can someone that owns both confirm?

They are the same. The bottom is the same, but the lid is simply taller on the 1000 case.

Right, but on the amazon pages, all exterior dimensions of the 2 cases are different but interior width and depth are identical (obviously height is different). I’m guessing a mistake on their part with exterior measurements.
