I'm looking for a vendor who produces Milano quality China Clay chips that can be fully customized. I want the highest quality China Clay. Custom inlay. Custom edge spots. Anyone know any vendors who do something like this?

The closet thing to what you’re describing is to purchase older China clays to which there are many different versions. Sprint or spirit mold era China Clays come to mind. But you’ll have to really scour the internet and FeeBay to find them. Then you’de have to have your design drawn up and have @Gear print the textured laminate labels.
- or -
Get everything you want in spot with a higher quality chip except it’s a hybrid ceramic. For this you’ll need to contact SunFly, who is a newer vendor here.

I don't think you're going to find a CC vendor who can get you custom edge spots. Custom ceramics, yes. There's a reason that you pay a premium for custom CPC chips. China Clay chips are mass produced.

But, as @Quicksilver-75 already said, customizing the inlay is what makes them unique to you.

You can't just get custom edgespots on China clays, unless you're willing to pay exorbitant setup fees. You could get custom CPC's for less.

The 43mm Apaches are easily the best CC's on my he market right now, IMO. Pick your favorite chips, and have @Gear or @ABC Gifts and Awards do labels for you.

Another option to consider would be hybrid ceramics from Sunfly, or full ceramics from ABC Gifts and Awards/BR Pro. These will be a higher quality product, and you can design them anyway you like, including edgespots like on actual clay chips. Look up the Mountaintop group buy, or maybe @Quicksilver-75 can share a couple of his very cool hybrids.

Good luck!

All china clay chips are produced in China for pennies apiece, and none are considered 'high quality' chips. The Milano chips (also sold as blanks without the Milano label) are no exception.

There are no color or edgespot options on any china clay chip lines beyond those preset combinations that are manufactured at the factory for various importers.

Brybelly is the importer of the Milano chips; anybody else selling them is just a distributor or reseller.

If you want true custom china clay chips -- unique mold, colors, spots, and/or labels -- you need to locate and contact one of the factories in China that has production capability. Be prepared to handle and pay for all manufacturing processes and product logistics involved, including the design and fabrication of new molds, label design and printing, chip assembly and packaging, overseas shipment, and all customs duties and tariffs. Minimum order quantities start around 5,000 chips with some factories, but most major discounts don't come into play until around the 50,000 chip mark. Being fluent in Chinese is highly recommended, as the language barrier is nothing to trivialize when dealing with all of the above. And be very aware going in that these chips are very low-cost items with questionable quality assurance and quality contol processes -- the chips will not be flawless or perfect.

Been there, done that, and it's a LOT of work. Good luck.

I understand none are considered high quality in general....but in relative terms, I'm sure their are vendors in China that produce a Clay chip better than another vendor. That's what I'm looking for. If I wanted high quality custom Clay I would buy from CPC

The very few specific Chinese factories capable and willing to produce cc chips is a pretty guarded secret and not divulged by most importers.

Most of the companies on Alibaba and similar sites are just front companies or wholesellers, and not the actual factory (although they often present themselves as such). They rarely disclose their production sources, either.

If really serious about such an undertaking, I'd start by contacting one or all of the following:
  • Brybelly Holdings / Trademark Poker / Claysmith Gaming
  • Josh at Apache Poker Chips (PCF vendor)
  • Jim at TheChipRoom (PCF vendor)
  • Joe Daly of Daytona Beach FL (Palm Gaming / Palm Imports, no longer in business)
  • Da Vinci Imports
All have dealt directly with factories in China producing china clay chips to their ordered specifications. Only the first two of those five are currently importing china clay chips.

Please keep us updated on your progress.

@Apache offers custom-labelled Milanos, and, more importantly, Majestics and 43mm Royals.
https://www.apachepokerchips.com/product/1000-custom-poker-chips/

That's all the customisation you can get in china clays (very good deal offered by Apache, IMO, especially for the better quality Majestics and Royals).

Otherwise, if you want full customisation of chips, the only way to go is CPC.

I've heard from several people that the Majestics don't feel as nice as the milanos....nor do they stack and stay together as well as the Milanos.... otherwise the Majestics would be a slam dunk easy buy for me. I LOVE the feel of Milanos but I hate the look of them and the double trapezoid edge spots.

Only way to know for sure is to order samples of everything that you are considering. You need to see and feel them for yourself to make an informed decision.

I have no personal experience with Milanos, but I can speak to Majestics, Dunes, and Royals. Majestic and Dunes are fairly slippery in stacks, Royals are not for some reason. That alone makes the Royals #1 by a long shot. Additionally, the colors and edgespots are better on the Royals. They’re definitely worth the extra 10¢/chip.

That said, I used this method on the Majestics I had. It’s a pain, but it worked nicely:

To be honest, i love the look of the Royals more than any other China Clay. However, I'm skeptical about how the larger size 43mm would feel in comparison to what I'm use to (39mm). Maybe I should get a sample set. Does anyone on here have a few Royal chips I could buy off them?

If I'm being 100% honest, I have an obsession with the Aria casino chips. If I could find a high quality replica, I wouldn't mind paying. Damn I love Aria chips

I think someone did exactly this on some ceramics from a Chinese company. One of our Australian members, perhaps? Do a search for Aria replica and I'll bet you can find them.

Not china clays, but I did buy some ceramic replica chips from China a few years ago that I was very pleased with. They look good, feel good and sound good too. Just happen to have a few stacks by my mouse pad for shuffling (which I do constantly now that I'm working from home during the lockdown):

I’m going to bump this thread with a question. Is there a specific reason we haven’t seen China clay chips with sharper edges? Of the samples I’ve recently purchased, they all seem to have beveled edges. It’d be awesome to see chips that more closely resembled Paulsons, CPCs, etc. in that aspect!

The “spirit mold” CC’s have sharp corners, and IMO, feel, and sound more like Paulsons than any other China clay chip—by a long shot. On the down side, they are notoriously fragile, particularly the solids.

If you’re interested, they are still available for as little as 7¢/chip at chipsandgames.com.

I actually really dig these edge spots! They’re larger than 314 spots, but smaller than 314 spots! Unfortunately, only the reds are in stock.
