What is the story / history behind the Brass WSOP chips? (1 Viewer)

Were these used in a WSOP event or were they sold as a collectors set? It seems like they still hold decent value.

I have a 500 chips set of the Tangiers chips which are basically the same.
I think I paid between $80 and $100 for them which is probably more than most would pay.
I can understand why people don't like them. They don't stack well at all and they are loud and
clanky when playing with them.
They are my least favorite set but I still kind of like them.
Probably more valuable as card protectors or sample sets though.
