So rake...

Is it a good idea to do this in a cash game.

And if it is how much should it be for a 25/50 game??

$0.00, without exception.

I might even advertise in bold letters that you are not and will never be accepting any form of rake compensation.
However, it is acceptable to ask your friends to reimburse you for food and beverages.

There was a guy who used to post here who ran a $1/$1 game. He had a dealer, and the dealer raked a single dollar out of ever pot that went to a flop. The game benefitted greatly from the dealer. And if the dealer raked $100 in a 4 hour session, it was a bargain for the players. (There was usually well over $5k on the table in this game)
That is the only circumstance where a home game rake makes sense to me.
If you think you need to be reimbursed for hosting, let somebody else host.

For the €1/€2 underground housse game in Paris France with rake and €50 buy in.

Usally this :

%5 of the pot limited (blocked to €15 max)

€50 pot you take €2
€100 pot you take €5
€300 pot or more you take €15

And you paid the dealer 20% of all the rake and he will work very hard.
