So it's been a while since I've done a custom set and i've got an itchy trigger finger, plus in the boring corona world, why not come up with new set ideas. There dont seem to be many design threads about right now either and I always enjoy them.

I already had the idea to do this as a tourney set, but make it's the motswari club, using animal heads instead of Benny Binion.

But I've been spending more and more time with my firstborn recently and she really has taken over my world. Who knew lol.

I am increasingly liking the idea of putting her cute and stupid looking expressions on some chips.

I've always liked this inlay and loved what courage did with his set, so used my crappy PC skills to mock this up.

I was thinking either one face, or a different one for each chip. Here are some contenders.

And for LOLs, I like this as a bounty chip idea

Here's my current mock, though I'd change the 500 base from purple to blurple. Which means the 5k spot needs changing.

I'm kinda stuck between plain mold and h mold right now.

Thoughts and suggestions on inlay and colours welcome.

Awesome idea Mike!! Absolutely adorable pictures... definitely a set you will always enjoy!! Looking forward to seeing the final product!! Fellow Chipper Ben

I like the idea.

Few thoughts....

Charcoal and Blurple seem pretty close to me, I'd take some color sample pics but I loaned them all out.

Do you think you'll have to go with a larger inlay to get more detail?

Love it, Mike. That mockup is pretty good. Use that, or find the perfect photo where she has a little smile, like the original Binion’s.

"Sometimes that poker shark, she looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. Y'know the thing about a poker shark, she's got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes. When she comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin"

But seriously I love the idea. Only suggestion would be to change the location on the inlays.

I may even call it Hannah's club yet. So the inlay is totally up in the air.

They shouldn't be too bad, but you are right that it's worth considering carefully. I may think about a lavender base.

Hope not. I like the smaller inlay.

two sides... one with your baby’s faces, one with yours making the same face

Horse Head Mold FTW

Random thoughts:
  • use the same picture on each chip (except for that bounty chip face, which is awesome)
  • use a caricature drawing of face vs actual photo -- and do it yourself to make it really special
  • use Hannah's Club vs Horseshoe Club
  • use Perth WA vs Las Vegas NV (or Las Perth WA, if you need to stretch it out for balance)
  • H-mold = no-brainer
  • Bounty chip on B-mold (can be used with multiple sets)
Colors:
  • daygo green T25
  • retro blue T100 (peacock T100 optional, but pretty bright for a retro set)
  • retro lav T500
  • dayglo tiger T1000 (dayglo orange might be a better choice for this set)
  • bright white T5000

I like most of your ideas. I think as much as I've been wanting a plain mold set, h mold really does work well here.

One face probably is best, though I like the idea of capturing more moments. I'll think on that for a while.

The caricature idea is also good, except that incompletely suck at drawing. So that's out  :ROFLMAO:

I'm leaning towards a brighter look, I like that retro lavender t500 a lot.

Google 'caricature photo image' -- it's actually much easier than you think.

Live the idea. 2 thoughts

1. For choosing the mold, any chance that H, B, or A is the first initial in her name? That would be cool.

2. They make phone apps (look up sketch or pencil sketch apps) that do really cool stuff. And they are free :)

Great idea!!

Her name is Hannah, so the h mold really does fit perfectly. It's a vintage looking mold too.

I can't wrap my head around a TRK spot pattern on a BurtCo-era mold.... :watching:

But it looks okay. Still prefer the 314 spots, though.

Pretty convinced on a blue T100 (light or dark), no matter which direction you go.
