Hi,

I create this thread to centralize the SunFly PolyClay sets.

PolyClay are ceramic chips with an engraved mold and a phyisically delimited center area.

I'll try with my "The Bank" set.

I wish they had a scroll or Greek key style
Pattern

They have a kind of scroll mold. It's what they call "pattern". Note that the center zone of these is larger. Hence they look like RHC where the Cards and Diamonds look like THC (in terms of center area).

How much did these cost? Very nice!

The non-aligned (because no spot) 10c : USD 0.39 each
The aligned ones : USD 0.48 each
Dealer button and plaques : USD 3 each

+ Shipping
+ Import fees if applicable to your country

Hi. I like these. What material and how much did they cost? Is there a way to buy more since they have already been made?

These are one of two basic types of ceramic chips made by Sun-Fly, a Korean(?) manufacturer who is also a PCF vendor. You can contact them here for ordering info.

There is also a group buy going for the other type of ceramic chip they manufacture which are commonly referred to here as hybrid chips. They are called such as they are a full ceramic chip with an actual printed label applied to a slightly recessed center area in the middle of the chip. Typical ceramic chips have no label or ability to take a label due to having no recessed area for one. Ceramics are due sublimated to create the images on the chip faces vs clay chips which are compression molded or “pressed”in a machine by hand or automated depending on the manufacturer.

The Lucid Diamond chips are printed ceramics with diamond mold markings, and are sold on Sun-Fly's apollonchips.com web site as one of their stock design offerings.

Curious because I've never handled one. Does PolyClay feel and play like other ceramics ?

I'm not the most experienced chip enthusiast but I've bought samples of many ABC / Brpoker ceramics before moving forward with the Polyclay. Ironically I just went for the PolyClay purchase without ever getting samples. The best way that I can describe it is a bit more of a clay feel to it than other ceramics similar to the way China Clays feel almost. The mold is the most notable difference but similar to other ceramics as they are matte on the main surface and glossy on the sides.

There is also a physical border between the center and border of the chip.

Hi,

I received today what looks to be PolyClay chips but from an Alibaba seller (see famous "cards mold group buy").

I've also added comparison pics between Alibaba chips and SunFly chips.

Chips look and feel the same. So I'm pretty sure they use the same blanks. Difference is SunFly has glossy edges where the ones from Alibaba are matte and edge alignement is far from perfect with the Alibaba seller (but hey remember the price tag).

Correction : as edges are different (glossy vs. matte), they are different blanks.
Correction 2 : the ones from the Alibaba seller can stand on edge unlike the SunFly ones and I also noticed some spinners on the Alibaba ones where I haven't noticed a single one in my SunFly chips.
