Initial hasty pron. Thanks to @Johnny5 on the design work, and @David Spragg for his patience. Special thanks to @courage for his pre-consulting.

EDIT: I would be derelict in duty if I omitted special thanks to @RainmanTrail for providing a top-notch high-res image of the trolley on the Golden Gate frac. John was able to nail the replication perfectly, but it looks like that didn't quite trickle down all the way to printing. Oh well. The attempt was nonetheless valiant.

And now for the pics...

Seriously when do these hit the felt??
In a live game? Probably not for another 6 weeks or so, sadly. We've got a heapton of elderly here in the state, and seeing as how even Las Vegas is shutting down some of their casinos I don't think having a game out here is wise for a while. I don't really give two shits if I get the virus, but if I can prevent unknowingly spreading it then that seems prudent right now.

Wow, you are pulling at my heart strings with the same color and similar designs as the first edition Tropicana. Very nice set!!!!
Honestly, your set is part of what inspired this one. I don't feel proper bidding up those random Trop $1's until your rack/racks are done. And since I'll not be putting together any playable racks of those - or any of the chips in this set, for that matter - then a mix set like this seemed the next best thing once Spragg came out with the small crown mold.

Congratulations Scott! Beautiful as always!
It seems you 've always been in love with quarter pies:)
How would you describe the CPC SCrown mold in terms of feel / sound?
Are these 1in labels?

While i do love me a good quarter pie (bi-colored only, please; tri-colored are a leading cause of cancer), my initial association with them occurred a bit haphazardly. When i did the original Armory tournament set the idea was to create a set that felt like a solid set but still offered a spot pattern. Then the idea of quartering the shield came up, and that kinda set the hook - it was the perfect blend of theme and spot pattern that was, in all honesty, an afterthought.

They are 1" inlays, yes.

I can't give you a good side-by-side comparison of TRK to CPC small crowns because the only TRK small crowns I currently own that I'm willing to shuffle are lightly used hot stamps. If they were new it still wouldn't be a good comparison because hot stamps feel different when shuffled vs. inlaid. That said, the weight of most TRK scrowns is going to be greater than that of CPC scrowns. While TRK used slightly different formulations throughout their history, I don't think there was ever a time when they were completely lead-free. Regardless of comparison, though, I do enjoy the way the CPC scrowns feel in my hand.
