Hi all,

If this topic exists somewhere, let me know, as I couldn’t find it. Just thought it might be nice to have a central location where we might consider small group buys. (Yes I realize there’s an EU site, but it doesn’t seem to be checked as prevalent as here, or used to the same degree).

Hoping maybe people could check in when they’re heading over to the US, or harvesting in Vegas, or had something come across they might want to buy in bulk or share.

For me, I’ll start by saying that I’ve been bringing stuff back and forth and have done two trips now (one was my chips, the other another chipper), with my next two to three booked (as in I already have chips I’m picking up/dropping off for others).

I know that there was a recent attempt at a group buy of desjgn cards. With the reveal of @One Eyed Dollar store, I was looking at picking up one of pretty much everything he and whoever come up with here:https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/suggestions-and-requests.52786/. Once he’s nailed down everything, I’d like to see if others are intrigued in picking up some stuff (i know we have the amazing Nex in our backyard, but I’m not aware if he’s in a distributing/selling situation at the moment.

Just a couple of thoughts!

Thanks for the mention! As a reminder, almost all of my models can be downloaded for free from the link in my signature. I just ask that they not be used for commercial purposes (i.e. set up a competing store). If you have a local buddy with a printer that is willing to print you some stuff for the cost of filament and some beer - that's totally cool!

I'll be opening up to shipping overseas in a bit, but I imagine that the shipping cost will be killer. It's already steep just in the US compared to the cost of my products. If there's somebody with a printer in Europe that would like to help make my stuff for the EU market and sell for a profit, I'd be willing to talk about some kind of licensing agreement for my models to use them for commercial sales.

I ship my printed stuff to Europe all the time and from Canada it is ~$10 for below 500g and ~$17 for 1kg

Oh, that's not bad at all. I'll have to see what it's like from the US. Any experts on US to EU shipping out there with tips? I haven't sent chips or anything overseas in a long time (unless you count smuggling them into Scotland :D ). I have no idea how it works with customs, VAT, etc. on top.

New EU member here (UK still counts, right...?)

I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure. Only been on the site for a couple of months, lurking...now I have a 800 Dunes CC cash set, a Chanman custom cloth on the way and a table self build beginning this weekend.

It won't be long before I need the Muertos chips in my life...

When I had 800 Dunes cc sent from Apache, I paid around £80 in customs charges and VAT (inc the post office processing fees as well...). They calculate it based on the value on the customs sticker inc postage! So I pay VAT on US postage too.

Worked out like this:

Chips plus postage $450 or £345
Customs and VAT £70 (20% of the marked value on the customs sticker)
Parcelforce UK handling fee £12

If they are sent as a gift or are under £200 in value often they won't be subject to customs and VAT, but they do spot checks and also, not much on here goes for under £200 anyway!
