Hi,

The Theory of Poker by D. Sklansky is the very first poker book I’ve read back in 2007 (I think) and this is the one that helped me the most I think.

The examples showing the concepts were mainly based on limit games.

I recently read that he recently produced a version « applied to NL » with examples centered on NL games and PL games such as NLHE, PLO, NL2-7.

I’ve just ordered a copy as I’m really curious to see how it has been adapted.

Maybe some miss the information here and would be interested. Hence this « news ».

Kid.

« There s an emphasis on no-limit hold em, (especially small to mid stakes), but the ideas almost always apply to pot-limit Omaha, no-limit single draw deuce-to-seven lowball as well as most other one winner big bet games. »

So indeed, it does not say if concrete PLO or NL2-7 examples are used. I’ll post here when I receive the book.

FYI, an excerpt is available here :

Excellent book. I read it a few months back and really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Still working on applying all the concepts but overall it has impacted my game in a very +EV way. I'll have to give it a second read soon.

Do you the first edition or this new one applied to NL ?
If you have the new one, are some example illustrated with PLO or NL2-7 games ?
