Went to an auction and its bidding later today. Monte Carlo chip. I guess its supposed to be rare. I can bid if someone wants it. Had paperwork with it and looked legit. They had some kind of custom poker table there as well. I will post in pics, see what they are worth.

Chips worth nothing.

Table, you'd need to pay me to take it. It looks heavy.

Sorry bud.

Edit. I guess I could be nicer. Sorry, it's late. The chip is a plastic one in a fake case. It's a common tactic to make people over spend. The table actually isn't horrid, but it's a unique style. I dunno, it would be a project. Good chipping!

2nd it. These are widely available and a lot of them for some reason a lot of them are sold in singles with an official looking case (some vendor doing it I’m guessing) to jack up the price but you can buy them by the hundreds as part of Monte Carlo sets. They all have the exact same scribble too.

Worth about 15c on a good day. Cost about two cents to make. The sleeve is actually worth more than the chip.

Agreed! With the forged, basement operation of a grading company to boot...
99% of chippers have not & will not slab/grade chips!

That "company" is notorious for selling faked sports cards / autographs / etc on eBay.
In this case, it doesn't really matter based on chip subject matter... but,
Buyer Beware !!!

I love the toke drop to “nowhere”
It looks like there *might* be a plexiglass box attached under the plunger/toke drop, but still the table is a WTF... what's the distance from the poker playing surface to the bottom drink ledge that your knees would need to fit under -- 10"? 12"? This sort of ledge for drinks works at a craps table where everyone is standing.

Or, maybe this is a standing poker table?

Confirmed on this, they are everywhere, I can't believe this seller would really try something like that on a poor unsuspecting buyer....

0.14/chip although the $1000 chip is out of stock, they replenish frequently and you can easily find it on lots of other sites

I’m cackling thinking about a game with money jammed into the toke box to nowhere and just floating around on the ground, no doubt getting recirculated as a low stakes game reaches new heights of Rebuy action.

Chip is a scam.. in general, best to never buy a slabbed chip.
BGinGA is being nice.. you'd have to pay me $5 to bring that fake thing into my house and throw it in the trash..

On the other hand, I will pay them $20 if they set that table on fire.

Thats hilarious! I seen those chips online but i was thinking to myself "maybe this is a real chip from the actual casino! The guys on pcf are going to love this!" hahaha Well its good i signed up here. Maybe i would have bid like an idiot. They have a signed Muhamad Ali poster there as well. Some sports cards as well. They looked real but now i dunno.

You should warn everyone else there about this scam artist! Nothing hurts more than paying an exorbitant amount for something only to realize it’s worthless, be the hero they need

Its actually an auction here in metro detroit. I am going to call them tomorrow because the poker chip does not go to auction for at least another week. Estate sale type of deal.

My biggest concern isnt the chip scam or the "hey i got a pound of weed, lets smoke and build a table" poker table
It is more the auction house I would be concerned about. Not saying they need experts in the field qualifying items, but they should know valid appraisal companies and fraudulent ones.
